In theory condensation isn't bad for hardware, since it's a non-conducting fluid BUT, there's dust on you hardware... Mix that with any fluid and it becomes conductive.

water doesen't conduct electricity?! :?

water in its pure form (destilated or pure water) doesn't conduct electricity, but if you put some salt in a glass with water, it will. Search for any experiment that uses a glass with water, salt, a battery and some cables

For all those that are interested my antifreeze experiment was reasonably successful and I was able to beat my overclock record twice (CPU speed to follow). Sadly this didn't improve my score however...I am sure I will better it on my next run though (have to wait for my coolant to refreeze again).

7.04 isn't bad for my office pc .....

With anti freeze I have managed 3.878.32 now.

Wait until you see what I am starting to build tonight !!

In the mean time please watch this video Brembo on how to build a water cooled system and let me know what you think.

If you look closely you can see that my pipes have become frosty...I don't think I am gonna do any better than to EQUAL the bears old record without better memory.

I also don't want to start dealing with to much condensation...there is already a shit load around my water block.

My final CPU speed was 3894.54

Fuck me Jabba.

After spending over £4k on a PC i wouldn't dare try to mess about with it :o mind you, you do know what you are doing.

On the topic of temps.... has anybody got a copy of Speedfan :?: ... i can't get it off the official site anymore :( ... he's put some funny protection on the link

Jabba 11-23-2004 05:14 PM

Hey I rebuilt that 4K machine ya know.

Jabba 11-23-2004 07:58 PM

The start of my water chiller project....obviously I wont get such a high overclock...but it will be a lot more practical if it works and I can just maintain the water at sub zero.

Now I just got to work out...how to get it in my insulated box.

Any ideas anybody ??

Nope just that top part that is covered in frost the evaporator I think it is...anyway I will find you some pictures of someone else building one.

Hopefully the chief boat builder of JW can help the Jabba out with this one.

The whole fridge idea sadly just doesnt work...all explained in these forums...also will give you an idea what we must do.

But basicly your water needs to go over the cold part....the air in a fridge would loose the battle of trying to keep your water temp down I think.
