Hmmm..looks good . Actually better than the Hard top version.....and anyday better than the 360 Modena but i for a convertible, id still take the Mucielago Spider. :wink:

Ferrari is proud to present its clients with another World Premiére - the new F430 Spider, details of which you can find inside the site.

483 bhp and a top speed of over 192 mph (310 km/h) are just a couple of figures that underline the significance of this new car that will be officially presented to the press and public at Geneva from the 3rd to the 13th of March. If you would like to visit Ferrari's stand at the show to see the car personally, please fill in the on-line form.

As for the berlinetta, the F430 Spider version features advanced aerodynamics developed in collaboration with the F1 team, while the shape of the car recalls Ferrari's 1961 racing models - in particular the 156 F1 winner of that year's title driven by Phil Hill. More hints at the car's F1 pedigree can be seen in the adoption of the electronic differential (E-Diff), the starter button and the steering wheel-mounted commutator switch, the manettino, that governs the car's set-up.

The F430 Spider boasts a compact, fully automatic electric hood that takes up relatively little space, despite the uncompromising central-rear engine layout.

this is the car to get until the new Porsche Turbo comes out of course, but no Ferrari has really excited me until this F430 came out, it is great

Just like the berlinetta, the new Spider incorporates two elliptical air intakes that feed the front radiators. The shape of the intakes is inspired by Ferrari’s racing cars from the 1961 season, especially the 156 F1 which Phil Hill drove to that year’s F1 Championship title. The spoiler that joins the two intakes at their bottom edge is highly effective in directing the central air flow towards the flat underbody.

The F430 Spider boasts a compact, fully automatic electric hood that allows the engine to be seen in all its glory at all times and which, once lowered, takes up relatively little space, despite the uncompromising central-rear engine layout.

The F430 Spider is powered by Ferrari’s new 490 hp, 4,308cc 90° V8 which is capable of pushing the car to a top speed of over 310 km/h (over 193 mph) and covering the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in just 4.1 seconds. This lightweight and highly compact power unit produces a specific output of 114 hp per litre with a weight-to-power ratio of 2.9 kg (6.4 lbs) per horsepower (dry weight).

I'm not a big fan of cabrios. I really prefer the coupe versions, but this one looks good. The photos with the grey one are amazing.

But what I'm really waiting for is the CS version :P Can't wait to see the first oficial photos....

this F430 Spider is way much better than the 360 spider...and the muscular 430 looked much better in convertible...thanks for the pics :mrgreen:
