I heard a few people in hear who wanted the movies to be dubbed that said, when we are reading the subtitles we take our eyes from what's important. That's a point, but I think it's better than not hearing the original voice |

They're doing the same in Germany and other countries. It's so hilarious when you're watching a movie with Denzel Washington and you're hearing some cheesy German voice when he opens his mouth  Come to think of it, I think dubbing movies and tv-shows is a big reason why a lot of people in France, Germany, Spain and Italy can hardly speak any English. I've been watching English TV-shows with and without subtitles since I was three years old and never had to pay much attention in English classes. It's such a huge help in developing language skills. |
^ Haha so true... Hans, Günther or Claus

For someone who grew up completely without dubbing, except from animated childrens shows, I can't get it in my head that someone can get used to dubbing. Doesn't something seem funny when you se an english speaking actor speak spanish? I speak german and understand some dutch and french, and when I see some english speaking actor speak any of those, I simply can't watch the movie...it ruins the whole experience for me, and I get slightly pissed  I was once going to a german theatre with a friend of mine in Freiburg, but I left after 20minutes, it was just weird to see star wars in german. what was ever wrong with subtitles? Here everything foreign is subtitled, and no dubbing. The children in elementary school here have english skills like a german high school kid. |
Deliverance (1972)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068473/ A quite disturbing movie. Really interesting imho. 8/10 Dueling banjos scene: |

If you like old school movies but would like a bit more action, may I suggest "North by Northwest" from Alfred Hitchcock. I also saw it on the big screen and thought it was one of the best movies I had ever seen! |
Last movie I watched was: The Bourne Ultimatum ---- Briliant movie!!!! That made me get all the previous Bourne movies....and Im going to watch them soon
10/10 --- the sheer massive world that the movie is filmed, makes the best of it....from Russia to Germany, Spain, Morrocco, USA.....great movie! http://www.thecinemasource.com/movie...-%20Poster.jpg |
Layer Cake:
http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808624572/info Didn't really know what to expect, so went in with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth watching and probably even owning. 8-) |
The Suso´s tower; a very funny film; IMO its a comedy which has a mixture between the english humor and Friends TV series. Although the film is made in Spain, I recommend to see it although the film could loose some essence when dubbing it
|
American Gangster, pretty good movie 8\10 and previous to that, 3:10 to Yuma, but I didn't like it that much.
|
I saw this one last night.......is it me, or animations keep geting better and better.....

Hot Rod
I saw it last night, got bored , it tryed to be a comedy, but failed!!!! http://oybay.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/hot_rod.jpg 3/10 |

its great, great horror, great action, perfect movie! http://www.fondos10.net/data/media/6...Extinction.jpg 10/10 |
^ I'm downloading that in 720p HD now, but probably won't watch it until next weekend.
I'll let you know what I think of it! |
Hitman
Plain and simply horrible, cheesy , predictable, and boring. 3/10 |
HITMAN sucked? I was really looking forward to that film
I just watched the Big Lebowski for the 100th time ... It was a much needed break having had to watch hairspray with the gf |
Well, if you don't mind watching a film with cheap acting, which is also poorly scripted and predictable, then you might find something to like in this film.
One of the worst movie adaptations from a game. |
just saw this Idiocracy.......very very wierd...i think its a SciFi comedy......not bad...but not good either....still, some parts were funny, while others just plain stupid..
http://www.nerdtalk.de/wp-content/up...iocracy_24.jpg 6.5/ 10 |
The Mist. 7.5/10. It wasn't scary, but actually depressing to watch.
|
Unbreakable 9/10
Could be a bit slow in the middle for some, but otherwise a well made film! |
No Country For Old Men.
A damn fine film. |

10/10 |
Good Luck Chuck
http://imdb.com/title/tt0452625/ Only 1 reason to watch it... JESSICA ALBA:drool: Otherwise it was 4/10 at best. |

I had to study Citizen Kane in Year 12. It was actually pretty interesting. I would never watch it again, though, because I got sick of it. |
|
The best movie I have watched this year, is trully amazing, it makes you think, iti makes you google the characters, it makes you wonder how past was, it makes you think about the future.......
AMERICAN GANGSTER Quote:

The Bourne Ultimatum - The story is nothing special but the action/suspense scenes are great. 16/20
Superbad - Quite good teenagers movue - 16/20 |
AVPR (Alien vs Predator Requiem)
I've always been a fan of the original Alien and Predator movies so I am a bit biased towards them 10/10  |
i am legend ~ fine movie till the middle!
|
Last movie I watched was Alien vs. Predator Requiem....Unfortunately!
|
I am Legend
really great movie, finnally saw it all :D 9/10 |
over the last month, I saw:
I am Legend: Good remake of the old movies... worth the watch... 7/10 3:10 to Yuma: FANTASTIC film, I really can't say enough about this movie. Even if you aren't familiar with Westerns, this film does true to the the man who made the western, Clint Eastwood... 10/10! National Treasure: Book of Secrets - Better then the first one, but the treasure is a bit more "lame" ... there may not be a repeat of the fantastic "we need more lemon's" scene, but there is some amount of cheese. Worth the watch ...7/10 No Country for Old Men: Not a lot of dialog... in some ways, it is a more modern vision of a western... There is no confusion of the good and bad guys, but there isn't any character development, which takes away from the film. Definitely worth the watch .... 8/10 |
Stand by me - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092005/
The Bucket List - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232/ |
No Country for Old Men - Best picture of the year in my mind, but I am biased, as it is filmed in Texas. Not a formula movie, I understand the same writer has done a post WW3 type book and it is being made into a movie, I can't wait.
National Treasure - Enjoyed it as much as the first one. Inca treasure seemed to end up a little too far North for my historic sensibilities. Golden Compass - Caution spoiler later on. It was only Ok, but doubt I will watch the sequels. If you do a movie you need to make it really good the first time out, not do a really long movie and cut it into thirds and expect everyone to really enjoy the first third, which is what this movie seemed like. Not enough Daniel Craig and Nicole not sexy enough this time out. "Luke I am your father" Sorry its been done before. Juno - Very good, but most of the good laughs are in the trailer. Probably a good movie to take your young teenagers too, as it deals with a serious issue and seems to solve it pretty well. Cast is incredible. You will see the young girl again. |
National Treasure: Book of Secrets -- Good movie, no I have to watch the first one :D
8/10 |
A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473488/
A very good movie 9/10 Dito, a writer in L.A., goes home to Astoria, Queens, after a 15-year absence when his mother calls to say his father's ill. In a series of flashbacks we see the young Dito, his parents, his four closest friends, and his girl Laurie, as each tries to navigate family, race, loyalty, sex, coming of age, violence, and wanting out. A ball falls onto the subway tracks at a station, small things get out of hand. Can Dito go home again? |
Boondock Saints 10/10
Shoot em Up 9/10 alienvshunter 100/100 (j/k) Who am i 9/10 greatest of all time!! Star Wars Series! 1mil/1mil |
Shoot em Up 11/10
Would make an awesome FPS game ;) |

very true! |
War - 9/10 with Jet Li and Jason Stathum. Killer movie too bad the had to destroy an american classic Nova SS. Also features many hyper cars. Of course I was confused, I thought Fearless was supposed to be Jet Li's last performance. At least thats how they billed it in the adverts.
Shoot Em' Up 8/10 Pure non stop action. Had all my qualifications for a good movie: Guns, Sex, Violence, and Adult Language. Not a theatrical masterpiece, but a rockin' ride beginning to end. I definitely agree it would make a great FPS. |
Strays - indie film written & directed by Vin Diesel in 1997 on a $40,000 budget. Really good story... pity it took 10 years to go from Sundance to release in 2007.
|
Are you guys serious about Shoot'em up? :?: imHo the crappiest movie I've seen in last couple of years, the only reason to TRY watch it is incredibly gorgeous Monica Belucci but thats about it.
|
^ Completely agree with you there!

It was supposed to be an over the top "shoot em up" first person shooter game style movie. With impossible gun battles and Jame Bond style timing and unbelievable gun play and action. In that vein it was spot on - and great fun to watch. |

AGREE!!! |
Shoot em up was shit imo, only lasted some 15 minutes into it.
