Yep. Pretty much everything I watch is in spanish... :bah:

But I have to say that it's a pretty damn good dubbing sometimes :D

But I hate dubbed movies, TVshows, everything.... The voice isn't the original and the caracter is moving is mouth and there's no sound.... :?

I guess that's the big difference!

I heard a few people in hear who wanted the movies to be dubbed that said, when we are reading the subtitles we take our eyes from what's important. That's a point, but I think it's better than not hearing the original voice

Me too and besides that, watching undubbed movies helps you learn to pronounce english words better and develop your vocabulary.

They're doing the same in Germany and other countries. It's so hilarious when you're watching a movie with Denzel Washington and you're hearing some cheesy German voice when he opens his mouth

Come to think of it, I think dubbing movies and tv-shows is a big reason why a lot of people in France, Germany, Spain and Italy can hardly speak any English.

I've been watching English TV-shows with and without subtitles since I was three years old and never had to pay much attention in English classes. It's such a huge help in developing language skills.

Svensson 10-24-2007 02:15 PM

For someone who grew up completely without dubbing, except from animated childrens shows, I can't get it in my head that someone can get used to dubbing. Doesn't something seem funny when you se an english speaking actor speak spanish? I speak german and understand some dutch and french, and when I see some english speaking actor speak any of those, I simply can't watch the movie...it ruins the whole experience for me, and I get slightly pissed
I was once going to a german theatre with a friend of mine in Freiburg, but I left after 20minutes, it was just weird to see star wars in german.

what was ever wrong with subtitles? Here everything foreign is subtitled, and no dubbing. The children in elementary school here have english skills like a german high school kid.

"Citizen Kane"

I know that for some it's the best movie ever made... but for me it's just boooring.

5/10

I saw it in the cinema a few years ago and while I agree that it was very boring overall, I have to say that cinematographically this film was excellent.

If you like old school movies but would like a bit more action, may I suggest "North by Northwest" from Alfred Hitchcock. I also saw it on the big screen and thought it was one of the best movies I had ever seen!

LEXION 11-16-2007 08:06 AM

Last movie I watched was: The Bourne Ultimatum ---- Briliant movie!!!! That made me get all the previous Bourne movies....and Im going to watch them soon

10/10 --- the sheer massive world that the movie is filmed, makes the best of it....from Russia to Germany, Spain, Morrocco, USA.....great movie!

Didn't really know what to expect, so went in with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth watching and probably even owning.

The Suso´s tower; a very funny film; IMO its a comedy which has a mixture between the english humor and Friends TV series. Although the film is made in Spain, I recommend to see it although the film could loose some essence when dubbing it

regele 11-19-2007 10:55 AM

American Gangster, pretty good movie 8\10 and previous to that, 3:10 to Yuma, but I didn't like it that much.

Hitman

Plain and simply horrible, cheesy , predictable, and boring.

3/10

blinkmeat 11-26-2007 06:25 PM

HITMAN sucked? I was really looking forward to that film

I just watched the Big Lebowski for the 100th time ... It was a much needed break having had to watch hairspray with the gf

r2r 11-26-2007 06:37 PM

Well, if you don't mind watching a film with cheap acting, which is also poorly scripted and predictable, then you might find something to like in this film.

One of the worst movie adaptations from a game.

LEXION 11-26-2007 06:37 PM

just saw this Idiocracy.......very very wierd...i think its a SciFi comedy......not bad...but not good either....still, some parts were funny, while others just plain stupid..

Unbreakable 9/10

Could be a bit slow in the middle for some, but otherwise a well made film!

A damn fine film.

I watched this on (pirated) DVD two days ago. It was a great movie which tied up all the loose ends. It was linked to the Bourne Supremacy, yet edited in a way to make it a stand alone film. Excellent.

I had to study Citizen Kane in Year 12. It was actually pretty interesting. I would never watch it again, though, because I got sick of it.

AVPR (Alien vs Predator Requiem)

I've always been a fan of the original Alien and Predator movies so I am a bit biased towards them

I am Legend

really great movie, finnally saw it all :D

9/10

nthfinity 01-02-2008 04:49 PM

over the last month, I saw:

I am Legend: Good remake of the old movies... worth the watch... 7/10

3:10 to Yuma: FANTASTIC film, I really can't say enough about this movie. Even if you aren't familiar with Westerns, this film does true to the the man who made the western, Clint Eastwood... 10/10!

National Treasure: Book of Secrets - Better then the first one, but the treasure is a bit more "lame" ... there may not be a repeat of the fantastic "we need more lemon's" scene, but there is some amount of cheese. Worth the watch ...7/10

No Country for Old Men: Not a lot of dialog... in some ways, it is a more modern vision of a western... There is no confusion of the good and bad guys, but there isn't any character development, which takes away from the film. Definitely worth the watch .... 8/10

The Bucket List - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232/

No Country for Old Men - Best picture of the year in my mind, but I am biased, as it is filmed in Texas. Not a formula movie, I understand the same writer has done a post WW3 type book and it is being made into a movie, I can't wait.

National Treasure - Enjoyed it as much as the first one. Inca treasure seemed to end up a little too far North for my historic sensibilities.

Golden Compass - Caution spoiler later on. It was only Ok, but doubt I will watch the sequels. If you do a movie you need to make it really good the first time out, not do a really long movie and cut it into thirds and expect everyone to really enjoy the first third, which is what this movie seemed like. Not enough Daniel Craig and Nicole not sexy enough this time out. "Luke I am your father" Sorry its been done before.

Juno - Very good, but most of the good laughs are in the trailer. Probably a good movie to take your young teenagers too, as it deals with a serious issue and seems to solve it pretty well. Cast is incredible. You will see the young girl again.

LEXION 01-03-2008 05:33 PM

National Treasure: Book of Secrets -- Good movie, no I have to watch the first one :D

A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473488/
A very good movie 9/10
Dito, a writer in L.A., goes home to Astoria, Queens, after a 15-year absence when his mother calls to say his father's ill. In a series of flashbacks we see the young Dito, his parents, his four closest friends, and his girl Laurie, as each tries to navigate family, race, loyalty, sex, coming of age, violence, and wanting out. A ball falls onto the subway tracks at a station, small things get out of hand. Can Dito go home again?

very true!

War - 9/10 with Jet Li and Jason Stathum. Killer movie too bad the had to destroy an american classic Nova SS. Also features many hyper cars. Of course I was confused, I thought Fearless was supposed to be Jet Li's last performance. At least thats how they billed it in the adverts.
Shoot Em' Up 8/10 Pure non stop action. Had all my qualifications for a good movie: Guns, Sex, Violence, and Adult Language. Not a theatrical masterpiece, but a rockin' ride beginning to end. I definitely agree it would make a great FPS.

RC45 01-21-2008 01:29 AM

Strays - indie film written & directed by Vin Diesel in 1997 on a $40,000 budget. Really good story... pity it took 10 years to go from Sundance to release in 2007.

ARMAN 01-21-2008 04:45 PM

You miss the point of the movie.

It was supposed to be an over the top "shoot em up" first person shooter game style movie.

With impossible gun battles and Jame Bond style timing and unbelievable gun play and action.

In that vein it was spot on - and great fun to watch.
