Worst Jaguar ever in the styling department, built quality sucked too. Seriously uncool.

point 1 - disagree
point 2 - probably

Cool, in my opinion.

Now where did I put that medallion?

LotusGT1 12-15-2005 01:09 PM

Point me a Jag that looks worse :)

Crappiest successor of the E-type possible...

Who the f*** voted subzero?

LMAO, Transam, im completely agree

this style lasted what... 20+ years without changing much? just the fact it was a V12 makes it cool... even if its quite unreliable

gucom 12-15-2005 01:11 PM

i've always thought it looked cool, dunno why really...dunno bout the buildquality but who cares :P i voted cool :D

Anonymous 12-15-2005 01:26 PM

Nearly got a cool, but just somehow its not, its not that bad looking in some colours, but its still not cool can't really explain why

this is the cool wall we'll have no real life considerations here :P

LotusGT1 12-15-2005 01:33 PM

Well, walking half the time because your car isn't working is seriously uncool. This case it definately is a consideration ;)

Well with the S type you get a toilet seat between the headlamps for those desperate roadside moments...

...and its based on a Lincoln LS.

LotusGT1 12-15-2005 01:40 PM

Point taken

Stingray 12-15-2005 02:06 PM

cool

graywolf624 12-15-2005 08:09 PM

uncool.. Sorry, all those old lucas jokes just ruin the mystique.

MIHALS 12-15-2005 08:26 PM

arghh, wrong pic mate :?

how about mine? I know it's tuned jag (lynx), but this one is my most favourite jag ever - this would be my Sub Zero.... otherwise - cool

I had to vote this car up to sub zero. I'll concede it has its faults which you've all mentioned, but look at the good points. It was a successful racer in Europe and the US (which the XKE couldn't claim), the engine was masterfully engineered, and I still maintain its long, low profile gives it great lines. But- the first car I ever drove was a 6 litre XJS, so I may be just a wee bit biased.

LotusGT1 02-01-2006 05:32 AM

The XJS hardly has a racing pedigree...

pzgren 02-01-2006 05:54 AM

uncool - don't know why exactly but i don't like it, it's the overall impression...

crayzayjay 02-01-2006 08:49 PM

These cars are absolute pimpmobiles, especially the V12's! Seriously cool 8)

ARMAN 02-01-2006 09:21 PM

Cool, old stylish Jag, donno about relayability but cool anyway :P

chest3r 02-08-2006 12:09 PM

Cool!!

... not much, but because of the looks I think it deserves a cool :P

anshar555 03-14-2008 01:08 AM

driven it

my dad owned one of these. it was big, slow, unreliable, and purred like a kitten. the noise the V12 made was quite possibly the best noise ive ever heard come out of an engine. and cruising in it around 80 85MPH down the freeway was joyous. the styling hasnt lasted the test of time but when it was new i thought it looked brilliant.

i gotta vote cool just for the sake of the engine

I used to love them for an hour or so when they were trade-ins but would never want to own one. I'd play around with their quirkiness and then send em to the wholesaler.

This car had two major flaws. It had the task of replacing the E-type, and the build quality was rubbish (death to BL!).
On the other hand it had some things going for it; the styling isn't really that bad, the engine is super smooth and it's a comfortable cruiser able to make effortless speed.
There are a couple of things you need to remember when buying one: It's not a sports car, and for goodness sake, make sure the technical faults are sorted out. The best thing is to have almost everything modified by a specialist company, like the one I believe James May drove in an episode of Top Gear.
Do I have to vote? Okay, cool then (why isn't there a "neutral" button?).
