Top Gear - Season 7 - Ep 3 - 27 Nov

Quote:

Motoring magazine presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The chaps take their favourite supercars on a continental road trip - the Ford GT, Ferrari F430 and Pagani Zonda. Car cultures clash when the Austin Healey Sprite takes on a Peugeot 306, and the Focus ST takes to the track.
Sounds like another cracker to me!! :D

No.1 11-14-2005 03:06 PM

Apart from the obvious feature, i can't wait to see the ST in action, it looks like a great car in the reviews etc...

ferrari550 11-14-2005 03:10 PM

This episode is giong to be great for sure! I would like to know who picked what car though.
A good thing about this 6 episode series is that each episode will be top quality!

No.1 11-14-2005 03:12 PM

^^^ If you want to know who picked what, i think Clarkie had a Ford GT, May in the 430 and hammond in the Zonda (he was mesmerised last time he drove it)

chest3r 11-14-2005 05:56 PM

This GT vs F430 vs Zonda feature could very well be the best one ever.

I hope I won't be disappointed 8)

yg60m 11-16-2005 03:07 PM

Can't wait to see that one. This season is going to be a festival !!

Kiran 11-23-2005 08:04 AM

Well I must say, this sounds very good but what I'm wondering is what Zonda are they using? Not the F version I suppose but just the C12S. I was hoping they could maybe test out the C12 (400hp version) out...

davide 11-23-2005 08:50 AM

clarksson in a Ford GT? Didnät he own one and got totally bizarre on it and sold it?`
Although, maybe it is is favorite to drive and not to own one himself :)

Richard - zonda (driving the "cab" in this episode, right?)
may - 430
jeremy - GT

He bought it back, probably at a considerable premium as it was advertised for a while at a private dealer. He gave it back to ford and got a refund originally because it was against his ethics to sell it, the only reason he got one was because he is Jeremy Clarkson so a bit unfair to use his name and then sell it on at a premium!

adamwich 11-23-2005 10:52 AM

Yeah! Can't wait to see the supercar road-trip!

Toronto 11-23-2005 04:49 PM

This episode truly was astonishing! IMO the best one yet. The supercar feature was finger licking superb. The Focus ST review was filmed in a mouth-watering way! And the humour made me laughing my ass off several times.

"I've not have my teeth done" :P

gangajas 11-27-2005 05:23 PM

Is an Austin Healey faster than a Pug 306?

1zippo1 11-27-2005 08:23 PM

btw, little question about the ST feasture. Why does JC call the car the Asbo? I got the cockster joke from last week, but I don't quite get this one. Maybe because of my lack of the english language (I'm skipping english class tomorrow btw, boring teacher :D ), would someone mind explaining it to me?

dhacke 11-27-2005 08:59 PM

'asbo' is short for 'anti social behaviour order', which is a form of punishment for persistent troublemakers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASBO

he also called it 'chavtastic' , and chavs are quite often recipients of asbo's

Toronto 11-28-2005 12:37 AM

5th gear take notes, that is what a show should be about. just watched the supercar feature, it was as always amazing....

thx for the explanation!!

Btw, great avantar :D

SL55 AMG 11-28-2005 10:42 PM

Great Episode in my opinion
The supercar feature was excellent for the fact that they explained how a supercar is an individual interpretation not a mainstream fact. One car can be hated and loved at the same time...its all how you see it. Such a shame however when the Zonda couldnt get out of the parking garage, Clarkson said it best - "I love cars to much to watch this"

Btw thanks for the clearing up on the Asbo thing i didn't understand it either :?

Cant wait for the Veyron!

Kiran 11-29-2005 06:37 PM

btw, did I miss something or was the: "Car cultures clash when the Austin Healey Sprite takes on a Peugeot 306" part never broadcasted?

I hope they havn't decided not to broadcasted because they can't get all the features in 5 episodes...

There is scheduled to be 6 episodes, its not in any of the tv guide descriptions so I don't know if this will make it in, hard to see where given all that is to come! Never know, they might surprise us with a bonus episode! My bet is it will be in the next series though, unless they drop something else.

sledgeham 12-02-2005 01:23 AM

dont u think it is a bit unfair to compare the GT and 430 with the zonda?!
i mean, c'mon.. its a ZONDA
u'd need an enzo to compare it with

its just not in the same league..

Goro 12-10-2005 12:42 PM

Thanks to "Guibo" from Supercars.net

EDIT : By Jabba

Post anything more like that and its goodbye JW.

Goro 12-17-2005 10:34 AM
