Speculation: Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada SUV

Cayenne Turbo killer
Lamborghini already had an SUV for sale more than 25 years ago and today Porsche's Cayenne is a global success. Ferrari hesitated for a long time but has now decided to develop the world's fastest SUV, or so says our Italian contact with insider info. Our DTP expert than set to work with this information and produced the following renderings. The project has been coded the "Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada" and its supposed world debut target date is the Geneva Auto Show 2010.

While the five-door will feature four-wheel drive its off-road capabilities are not among the top priorities of the Ferrari development team. Two-thirds of the engine's power is rumored to be transferred to the wide 22-inch high-performance street tires in the rear.

The engine is familiar and hails from the Ferrari F599 Fiorano, albeit in slightly modified form. Its maximum power output of more than 600 hp and 600 Nm of torque will be a challenge for the size 315 tires front and back.

Despite an empty weight of around 2.2 tons the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is supposed to take less than five seconds, thanks to Formula 1-type shift paddles on the steering wheel. Targeted top speed is 300 km/h.

With a top speed such as this the Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada would easily eclipse the performance of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, just as easily as it would eclipse its price at projected 250,000 Euros plus.
I hope this remains as it is, a mere speculation. A Ferrari SUV is ridiculous!!! :puke: :puke: :puke:

Ghostbat 10-25-2007 04:37 AM

I Ferrari decides to build a SUV I'm quite sure it will look much better than this hideous rendering.

LEXION 10-25-2007 04:53 AM

GOD!!! who has time to invent such news?

and those renderings....are nothing much than a red Cayenne

acmarttin 10-25-2007 05:33 AM

That car would have looked TITS in the original Ridge Racer. Today it looks like a car from a video game that was made 10 years ago. No way those are official renderings. Ferrari has more money than that!

chest3r 10-25-2007 05:54 AM

Nooooooooooooo!!! :wall: :wall: :wall:

ARMAN 10-25-2007 06:58 AM

bmagni 10-25-2007 01:45 PM

lol, who did those renders? at least invent something cool, not something hideous

tospok 10-25-2007 02:11 PM

What a stupid rendering, (not as stupid as EMBOLADO anyway)

dutchmasterflex 10-25-2007 02:20 PM

Looks like play-doh.

rusrocket 10-25-2007 02:42 PM

it should be called the dino, as it resembles a dinosaur

MIHALS 10-26-2007 02:55 AM

first, I couldn't stop laughing

second, this just can NOT be real  :faint: :puke:

The crazy thing is people would buy it - but sadly, unlike the Cayenne will not be able to use it ;)

I know of a couple Porker owners who put over 36,000+ miles on their 2 Carrera GT's and over 80,000 miles on their 2 Cayennes... so far...

Now try imagine any Ferrari putting up with that kind of daily driver punishment without costing the earth ;)

I know somebody who put 155,000 miles on their Ferrari without so much sweat, no blood, and no tears... just regular maintainence. Also, if the market says its ok to build it, and they can sell them with room to spare....why not?

all cars are over 80 000 km, and some have almost 200 000 ;)

LEXION 11-05-2007 01:11 PM

All this is a crappy lie made by someone who wants to get some money of the internet.......this is the mail the GTspirit owner got from the guys who made the rendering with the Ferrari SUV and they tryed to sell him some Murcielago LP 5000 renderings.....its all a hoax!

Quote:

Bullshit if you ask me, no doubt ROXXITY Media just came up with this crap to generate some cash. Can't believe people actually bought it...

Here's an email I got from them the other day:

Quote:

Dear colleague,

We are an independent press agency that supplies media around the globe with a wide variety of stories and photos.

Today we want to offer you a story on Conrad Gruber and his Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 S. The Austrian has specialized in converting classic Italian exotic cars such as the Countach to state-of-the art technology and stability level by modifying engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes (with ABS!), electrics and many more details. The result is a sportscar with classic spectacular design and modern, reliable technology.

Simultaneously he developed a 620 hp twin-turbo engine with modern, ECU-controlled injection and three-way catalysts for the white Countach that started life with a 375 hp 4.7 litre carburettor engine. In addition the two-seater car got a white special paint whose clear coat contains expensive Swarovski crystals, and modern, three-piece 18-inch wheels.

To give you an idea of what to expect we have attached a photo index with some sample images to this e-mail.

The story comes with a large selection of high resolution photos (including the manufacturer of this car) and an English or German text including technical specs.

Please make us a purchase offer when you are interested and let us know how you'd like to publish these photos (print, print + online, how many national editions, etc.).

Upon reaching a financial agreement we will immediately send you the DVD with the hi-res photos plus the story in English and German language.

You can best reach us by e-mail at [email protected] .

We will respond to your inquiries as quickly as possible!

Best regards,

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

And some more renders they tried to sell to me that are clearly based on the Porsche Cayenne and parts of a Ferrari 456 GT / 360 modena:

Leave it up to the blokes at AutoExpress to bring details about the rumored, and oft denied, Cayenne competitor from Ferrari. The Brit pub supposedly has the inside scoop on what could be the biggest brand dilution in the history of automobiledom, and it currently goes by the codename F151.

The five-passenger 'ute was rendered by AE's in-house photochoppers, taking plenty of cues from the 612 Scaglietti, from which the Ferrari SUV might be based. Power is likely to be supplied by one of Maranello's V8s or V12s, but the real problem isn't motivation, it's how that grunt will find its way to the ground. The two options available include either modifying the Scag's platform with a high-tech traction control setup and beefing up the running gear to allow it to make the regular rare trips off road or to source an all-wheel-drive system from Mercedes to limit the cost to Ferrari.

Whether this is strictly misinformed prognostication or based in reality remains to be seen, but according to AutoExpress, the F151 will be revealed to the world in 2010, with sales beginning the following year. Prices should easily crest the £100,000 mark.
More details: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...rrari_suv.html
Honestly, this is a better rendering than the previous one and it's not too bad. :-P I still think though it's a ludicrous idea to have a Ferrari SUV!

styla21 01-07-2008 09:44 AM

It will be a cold day in hell, before................ :-)

silentm 01-07-2008 10:13 AM

funny thing is if you compare the rear wheels you will notice that the brake calipers are on the wrong way around in either of the 2 pictures

nice photochops though :D

volkoff 01-07-2008 10:41 AM

Lol))
Whats is next - rolls roys racing bike? Or Kia supercar maybe? ))

tospok 01-07-2008 01:05 PM

The guy who photoshopped this could at least be a bit creative. Front and back straight from 599, side 612

pitfield 01-07-2008 01:45 PM

Yeah right. Gash.

yg60m 01-07-2008 04:09 PM

No way it will exist ... Ferrari tries to lighten its cars and it's not at all in Ferrari's spirit.
That said, it wasn't Porsche's philosophy too ...

aykutp 01-20-2008 08:55 PM

good photoshop :):):)

numerouno 01-21-2008 01:24 AM

yeah good chop, but the question for the modenese suv is to be or not to be!

Tattoo- 01-25-2008 03:03 PM

Man, I hate SUV-s!
