Show us your HDR picture's
This weekend I decided that I would like to find out how to produce HDR (High Dynamic Range) pictures. I went out with my cam, experienced a few days and finally I have some picture I am happy with.
Have you tried using the HDR technique, show us your results. * First picture is what the picture looks like with the standard camera settings. * Second picture is the HDR picture, I used 3 picture (-2 stops and +2 stops) to get this result, I like the effect what do you think? camera: http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/9...6aanse3.th.jpg HDR: http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2...naanfk6.th.jpg And another one: camera: http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/7...3hdryp6.th.jpg HDR: http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3...4aanfm4.th.jpg |

HDR? This seems to simply be multiple exposures? -- Been around since film was invented - right?

so basically, you take the same picture a few times over and combine them?

these pics looks good |
Anyone use the Automated HDR tool in Photoshop CS2? I keep trying to load multiple exposure images and it says "there is not enough dynamic range to create a useful HDR image".. although I'm am positive these 5 images have enough dynamic range...
edit: Just read that Photoshop analyzes the recorded EXIF exposure data to justify whether or not the photos have a dynamic range. So that means if you want to use CS2 to create HDR photos, you must take multiple shots at different exposure levels rather than using 1 RAW photo and adjusting the exposure levels on the computer. |
Or throw the EXIF away by using "save for web". :)
|
Thanks for the tip ;)
|
Well, gave it a shot again in CS2 after creating EXIF-less jpegs of the one RAW negative.. Not very happy with the results.. but am eager to perfect this technique.
Original with blown out sky http://putanginaka.net/coneyORIG.jpg HDR creation http://putanginaka.net/coneyHDR.jpg Next I will try HDR with multiple exposed negatives instead of adjusting one negative. |
I usually perform the HDR-action on a new Layer, so I can blend it with the original image. "Lighten" works very good most of the time.
|
I was using the HDR tool under File>Automate>HDR..
So basically you do it the manual way? I figured that would curb the best results but was hoping some software jockey created some nice piece of code to do it for me ;) |
just bought the 400D and thought would be nice to share my first HDR.
here my 535d M. http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/1861/bmw2xt6.th.jpg cheers iwan |
iwan thats amazing! do you have the original picture(s) for comparison? how do you like the 400? I'm thinking about upgrading from my 350, but I'm not sure its worth it.
|
@ferrarif1fan89
here the originals, as for the 400D, can't give you really an advise, it's my first SLR, i'm a beginner on this topic. but as far as I know there isn't much difference to the 350D.... at least not for semipro guys....... i would say it's not worth to upgrade unless you get an interesting trade in... http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/123...5287xo9.th.jpg http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/422...7106bm1.th.jpg http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/935...6936ht2.th.jpg cheers iwan |

Hey! sorry you will have to go to the link to see it... HDR at night... over Edinburgh...
Choose FULL VIEW TOP LEFT :D Thanks http://bongomancan.deviantart.com/ar...t-HDR-65052592 |
Very interesting technique, amazing pictures. But I dunno. It's too "surreal" for me. :?:
|
hmm, I'll just keep waiting for the sky to turn to interesting colors. I was too late for the sunset in this one. I'll have to try the HDR technique once I have more time (when semester ends.)

Thanks for this thread. I have never tried a HDR Photo before. I practiced a little yesterday, but I still have a lot to learn.
I will post something up if I deem it worthy. :-) |
