both of you took the words out of my mouth, makes the other one look a hell of alot better,
i kinda like the look, it's ugly but beautiful (old car)

i don't know what 2 say rely.. the new look aint that nice

Silvia_Drift 04-03-2004 03:00 AM

OMFG, that looks horrible!!!!! I can't put into words how ugly this piece of shit is. Are you sure this isn't a photoshop because it looks like the regular cayenne and someone tried to put 993 headlights on it or some shit.

RC45 04-03-2004 03:16 AM

The look is probably to sell more to the Lexus and Infinity buying SUV crowd... remember - this cash-cow is catering to "the otherside" - people who buy cars to get from A to B and because they saw it being valetted at the opera... ;)

People who are unaware what the 710 cap is used for ... :D

sikx5 04-03-2004 03:25 AM

LOL....great news porsche just keeps getting uglier, no aftermarket parts needed there

The current one rocks , its a mix of a fucking cow crossed with a supercar ... i know its not pretty , but it rocks

Evo 04-03-2004 08:45 AM

What's funny about the 710 CAP.. I just got my self a new one few days ago..

By the way that cayeene is ugly .. And I don't think that's a real pic.. just a photoshop.. coz it's to damn early for them to even think about a facelift for the cayenne.

Tomerville 04-03-2004 10:30 AM

Yeah it does look like a frog. Its just a stupid 993 Cayenne.

Imre 04-03-2004 12:44 PM

to SnowboarderTom:Just like i thought .But why does they refresh cayenne, i read that it sold 70% more in germany compared to previous month.

dylan99 04-03-2004 02:43 PM

OMG it really looks like shit they should stay with the way it looks now much better.

bmwfreak 04-04-2004 05:52 AM

Absolutely terrible. I wasnt a fan pof the Cayenne before, and I'm sure as hell never going to be one now. It's like the tried to tack on 993/997 headlamps on to it, and..... didntbother withthe rest!

Not just facelift, that THINg needs a bumlift as well. Horrible. Absolutely horrible.

st-anger 04-04-2004 11:09 AM

...absolutely NOT

such things are always quite hard to answer...
i can only tell you, YES, a facelift is planned for ´06 including some changes at front like lights, bumper and hood and some changes at the rear as well, some more options for interiour as well, there´s many many multimedia stuff in planning...
power output should be increased as well, and the rumour of a diesel engine is a never ending story...
but there´re already some changes for next year as well, like 500hp power kit of course aerokit too, PCMII, TV/DVD, Targa roof...

like SPEED already mentioned i like it just like it is right now, so no need for changing it, but well....marketing dep. is saying so.... :?

bmwfreak 04-04-2004 03:06 PM

POrsche has to bow to bean counters now and again too, aye? Well, as long as cars like these mean that POrsche will come up with creations like the CGT, then I suppose i cant argue with that. A shame though, I just wished the Cayenne looked a bit better, for me anyways. Thanks st-anger.

yep, because of the Cayenne there´s so much comming in the far/near future, it´s selling bloody good, and as you know i simply love the Cayenne, especially the Turbo, i´d even buy a 955TT instead of a 911C2/4... :D

yep, exactely, not a code name, just the model name, 955 for Cayenne, 996 for latest 911 models, 987 for Boxster....
the TT is not for "Targa" it´s for twin turbo, like 996TT...

Porsche_Cayenne 04-04-2004 05:02 PM

Damn, a restyling in 2006. . .

I think I must wait... the Volvo go anyway really good ;)

bmwfreak 04-04-2004 05:47 PM

st-anger : wasnt the Boxster codenamed 986? or did it become 987 after the styling and engine revisions back in, was it '03 or '02?

PATo355 04-04-2004 06:09 PM

Thx for the aclaration St-Anger
What do you know about the new 928 ?

astonmartinandy 04-04-2004 06:14 PM

That is even uglier than the original, and that is saying something!!

nthfinity 04-04-2004 09:09 PM

can anyone say fastest SUV ever? regardless of the looks, it is unmistakably seen a mile away as a porsche, hit 60 with the M5, and keep on trucking on wet tarmac at 155 with a weeks worth of groceries all day. from what ive heard, reliable as the reminder card from the dentist

besides, i think most of us are agreed that it was a great thing to produce in order to finance the CGT

first, sorry my fault i´m starting to mix up things *confused*, sure it´t 986 now, i was already thinking of the new Boxster, the 987

you can find some infos in "Porsche news" about "E2 A/B"...

draak666 04-05-2004 05:58 AM

IMO there was nothing wrong with the front. It looked awesome. These headlights are a step back in time. It was the back that needed a facelift.... THE BACK!

BTW, congratulations st-anger with your new section. :D

targa roof on the cayenne?! is it going to be ok in roll over tests, is it really that stiff or is it in the process of being stiffened?

jon_s 04-05-2004 02:47 PM

Thak god it is not going to look like that!

It looks all wrong!

heath 04-06-2004 05:52 PM

I liked the back of the first one more than the front....and I don't mind the look of this one. I'd probably never buy one...but then again...I did buy a 951t

Yeah Porsche Model Names confuse me.

996, next will be the 997, then the 998, and I am guessing the 999 after that. So what happens after 999?

we had that discussion here in "Porsche news" quite some time ago, but it´s more or less useless, to me, this is marketing, i´m technician  :D

Oh sorry, I thought Porsche News was actually quite new. Didn't know that. I'll definitely try to look it up.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Ok a Cayenne is not a Porsche that I really love, but in this picture it looks absolutely horrible... glad it isn't going to look like that in the future

skituner 04-17-2004 04:15 PM

it looks terrible
i like the current one better

HeilSvenska 04-17-2004 08:56 PM

Hmmmmm...Cayenne definitely needs a facelift, but nothing of that sort. In fact what's needed is...lowering the ground clearance about 5 inches, lowering the height about 10 inches, lop 2 doors, shortening length about 10 inches, and finally, moving the engine into the opposite from where it is now.

Sachmo12345 05-27-2004 04:30 PM

now that is ugly, it looks like a bad photoshop

gucom 05-29-2004 06:23 AM

hmmmm i read in EVO that a 2005 Cayenne facelift is planned...this is a photoshop tho. The grille in front looks fake to me, its a lot smaller than the current one

amanthapar 06-18-2004 04:08 PM

facelift is in 2007 ...
but there are rumours it might change... the picture ur looking at is a photoshop it wouldnt look that ugly.. it would look better than the current , thats y they are changing the looks of it.. lol

Well not all of us will, but who can deny the capability of the vehicle? On those merits alone its simple amazing

PATo355 06-19-2004 05:28 AM

Hey ... common this is the most capable SUV in the world , it might look a little weird ... but you get used to it ... i think its lovely , the best looking SUV in the world , and with the greatest badge ( after Ferrari )

ahmedgiyab 06-30-2004 06:54 PM

Porsche can't do this to the Cayanne.... :?

WHY?!?!?!

i think it's the first porsche that actually starts to make sense. If it took em 40 years to get the engine moved forward, imagine how long it will take em to get the looks right? :D
