Ferrari F50

I have a feeling voting seriously uncool my result in serious damage to your JW health :P |
Probably my favourite supercar....
It's often overlooked in the Ferrari lineup, and also overshadowed by the McLaren F1, which makes it even cooler. Plus, there's nothing like hearing that V12 screaming all the way up to 8500 rpms. Definitely subzero. 8) |
not subzero for me, something is missing...
and the shape is not subzero either so "cool" |
this car was the first car i ever loved! the first time i saw a picture of it... i dont doubt similar to how people years earlier couldnt resist the F40.
this is a ferrari worthy of the Tifosi. Sub Zero! everything about this car is perfect, even though i've never been in the presence of one  the sound, the look, the performance, the powerplant... a great liniage of racing V12's in it! (and somehow, including the successful 333 sp :-D this is the ferrari that made me love ferrari! |
A v12 bolted to the chassis.... i'm sorry, but thats hardcore for a road car, and so sub zero is my vote. 8)
A black one is always cooler, but the car is so underrated that it is even cooler for that fact. :) |
this car is sub zero its just so cool that coolnes has a new meaning :D
|
the f40 is more subzero than the f50.... imo !
zonda F is subzero :D   |
Sub-zero for me
Not the prettiest Ferrari but it has honest F1 technology, is raw and basic on the inside, has the coolest speedometer, is a manual for the love of god! |
Sub-zero, but if I could give it a little fridge like TG did for the DB9 I"d do it :D
There really isn't anything I dislike about the car, except for the fact that it's not in my garage. |
Cool.. but takes a back seat to its father the f40.
|
I donīt think itīs as cool as the F40, and i donīt really like the shape much.
i would say itīs cool. :| |
After hearing what the F50 GT1 sounds like, it makes the F50 road car seem like a pussy cat, so i couldn't just give it a sub-zero rating, deffinately cool though.
|
definately subzero - especially a yellow one, see my sig for the reason.

Just kiding, I can see where you come from. I mean, it's not easy to be the F40's successor... I guess people were expecting something different, maybe closer to the F40, but personaly I'm happy that didn't happen. :D It's a very special car, in many ways. Probably the last Ferrari supercar to have a manual gearbox, and also has a very unique construction, that can no longer be repeated, sadly. And there must be a reason why they're selling at $ 600K and more now, and it's not because it's rubish, that's for sure. :P |
Sub!!! I loved since the begining and fell more for it when I saw it 8)
|
just cool for me..
Subzero is the F40  |
deffinitly cool :)
|
Cool, like it more than the F40... just cause it's naturally aspirated.
|
Subzero
|
I like the fact that it is naturally aspirated, but the shape just doesnt have me captivated, just cool for me 8)
|
this is one of the few ferraris I dislike...I mean stylingwise. It's true that it is an amazing piece of engineering...cool
|
subzero its so badass in any color in any place
|
Uncool!!
It looks very similar to the F40 but with a modern look. They should have made something different 8) |
Itīs a cool car!
|
I love the F50, its as raw and natural a super car as the F40, and it was nice to see a change from the F40... Ferrari definitely went a different direction with the F50, and even if some compare and contrast it to older models, it is its own car, with its own identity! Also I am not sure why it seems some of you are reserving subzero for like 2 cars... I mean you can think more than one car is super cool ya kno
I vote subzero of course  |
Uncool
Can't match up in any way against the presence and stance of its predecessor (the F40 obviously), has slightly disappointing speed (as it didn't dominate the pack at the time like once again, the F40) and it's questionable looks. |
cooler than the F40, Subzero :D
|
I know a lot of people dont like it so much.. but I love it.. I dont care at all what JC, tiff or anyone else will say about it.. I LOVE it! and its a very very cool car.. you wont see any geeks driving it down the street.. geeks buys SLRs :P
Subzero! |
I wish there was something cooler than even subzero to select for this car.
Maybe Absolute Zero perhaps?? |
Subzero and even better with MS Racing exhaust :P
|
I agree....since IMO it isnt as refined or pure as the 288 GTO, the F40 or the Enzo.....i voted as cool; however, i was expecting to see the car like the three models mentioned already; on the other hand i was expecting that the car was going to be as effective and fast as the Mclaren, but it didnt happen.....thats why my vote for the car was just cool
BTW Alien, it seems that we have opposite tastes since i prefer the turbo or the compressor engines rather than the aspirated ones....of course i like the aspirated engines, especially with the VTEC and the M badges in them |
Uncool for me. I've only ever seen one and it was being driven by a fat man with a fake tan.
|
Cool, it's a very good supercar with racing derived technology. shame about the look tho
|
Its cool. The F40 is Sub-zero and this is not quite up there.
|
it's a cool one because of the look and the first ferrari equipped with a lot of F1 knowhow... great car!
|
Subzero
Great car! True supercar imo |
Never was a fan styling wise, but that amazing engine keeps it up at cool.
|
Yes it wails and looks far better than the Enzo, but there's a reason the owners of these cars don't drive them: they're impossible. Brittle and twitchy, these cars were made for glass-smooth racetracks, not the real world. Still a sweet ride though.

Toronto... i think he said he preferred the F50, as its more fun to actually drive? where the enzo is just brutal in accelleartion... it wasn't as rewarding.

hmmm. I know someone who owned an F40 and F50 (He had to sell them together in a deal). My friend with the 275 (my avatar) has driven them back to back on a local freeway. They wanted to see what the differences where.
Basically what he said was that it was amazing how easy the F50 is to drive. Very little drama, even all the way up to 275kph or so. He said the only thing was you had to get used to the vibration and even the noise. This is because of the F1 way of bolting everything directly onto the chassis. By contrast the F40 is a beast. He says very twitchy and nervous, but he also said both of them would choose the F40 over the F50 (They are/where both racing drivers). This is because you do not want this kind of supercar as a daily driver. You want a seriously fast car when you want it. So the relative ease of the F50 is a bit of a waste. In their impromptu race (High altitude, so the F40 had an advantage with turbos) the F40 has the faster acceleration. The F50 only started inching closer at around 260kph, but not rapidly in any way. About 6 months ago my friend was driven around Kyalami in an Enzo. He said the most impressive where the brakes, pointing out how they would accelerate past a 360CS while it was already braking for the corner. According to the owner the car is really easy to drive, seemingly shrugging of its weight and size. It has so much power that the acceleration truly awesome(My friend also mentioned this). But he also said you can't deny its size. Its a big car. And lastly my friend used to own a 288GTO back in 1988 before selling it in the price boom. And he recons the GTO is what you want if you want a supercar on the road. Easy to live with and seriously fast in its own right((He saw 300kph on the clock). The F40 for something special that you can race if you want to. All in all the F50 seems to be the one left behind. Not as spectacular as the F40 and not as technologically impressive as the Enzo. The former F40/F50 owner is now trying to buy back his F40. :) |

wouldn't be my ferrari of choice, i would prefer an F40 above this-one.
|
Subzero I would say but most of them are being locked away and rarely driven, subzero for the sound but only Cool because of their owners
|
Cool, but it looks pretentious. I don't care how it sounds; you can't look at sound.
|
Never a top speed record holder, slower than the F40, a stopgap from Ferrari, nothing else. Uncool.
|
id say uncool, just for the fact that it looks like the enzo's awkward just becoming a teen stage. yon know when ur body starts developing but not quite there yet. im not making any comment on performance or any real facts. im just going on what i feel when i look at it.
