More detailed information from the TG homepage:
---It’s business as usual this week on Top Gear. We perform a public service by smashing a really big train into an aging French people carrier. Trust us, it’ll all make sense when you see it. James makes the definitive bid to rid himself of his ‘Captain Slow’ nickname, by attempting to max-out the 252mph Bugatti Veyron at Volkswagen’s top secret test-track. An A-list Hollywood star comes to our studio and has a ride in our distinctly C-list reasonably priced car. And Jeremy, Richard and James try to decide on the best small coupe by taking the latest offerings from Audi, Mazda and Alfa Romeo to two of their natural habitats – a design museum and a golf course.--- So James will really try to go top-speed :D Seems to be a great ep! Can´t wait to see the king of all cars on its very first top speed test on TV  |

this looks interesting
james trying to max out can't wait |
has anybody finished watching yet? tell me how it went
Was very interesting!
So cool to see the Veyron at full speed, especially since it was driven by Captain Slow! I enjoyed the news very much! The test was ok, but it went a bit on.. Anyway I wouldn't buy either of them and go for the Alfa GT  |
The veyron feature the rest was boring as hell.
Who cares about a slow alfa or a boring audi tt. :D  :P |
Nice show, think the previous one was better. The Veyron was just awesome again, but the triple test was a bit boring, though the golfing part was kinda funny  And nice seeing Hugh Grant trying once more!
sounds like a descent episode cant wait to watch :D
The lap times surprised me. The new TT has improved its handling a lot.
^^^ I know i was actually expecting the RX-8 to beat with more power and rear wheel drive. The heikki kovalinen bit was funny, him having an erection over the clio lol.
so how fast di he actually go? was there a figure named?

^ So it exactly hit it´s claimed top speed  Bugatti doesn´t need to make unreal claims because they know what the best car of all time is capable of 8)
So were there other two parts of the show that bad, that they aren't going to be posted here on JW :?:

407.9kmh - Capt. Slow didnt even wet himself, so the Veyron must have been stable at that speed.
I agree though, the rest of the show was pretty pants - i have sene on various form sites that owners of Veyrons in the UK could give their car to TG for the Stig lap, but their insurers wouldnt pay out if Stig did a Koenigsegg - i If they can afford the car.......... they can afford the repair bill |
I didnt like that they were plugging the "Star in a reasonably priced car"'s movie. I really hope thats not what the thing becomes, is a place to advertise or plug new movies
^^ unless they want Jenna Jameson on there next week! :)
^ LOL  I think they just made an exception as Hugh Grant is a true superstar. Maby the movie trailer was the only reason he came to TG.
I wouldnt be surprised if the big stars had riders that included promotion of the latest movie.
Back on the Capt Slow topic, it reminded me of hamster in the Zonda F, from Series 8. Loads of speed but stable enough that it was fun, not terrifying... the Veyron certainly did look stable. |
