Really though. I love Audi's and I think this car is going to be the one to have (even over the M5). If I wasnt a RWD fanatic, I would surely opt for the RS6.

All the infos leaks which came from Quattro GmbH corroborated the V10 biturbo engine, but several jammer car journalists announced the V10 N/A just to fuck us. :wink:

What is not true?

This RS6 looks very muscular. I think it's going to look quite good also. M5 is not a very pretty car. Very high-tehc but not pretty. But every one has his own opinion :)

I'm also a firm believer that the S6 competes with the 550i and E550. While its does have a more power, and it is priceier (by $13k), it isn't any quicker. All three do the 0-60 sprint in about 5 seconds flat. Speed is the basis for this comparison. The V8 A6 will have to butt heads with the 535i and E350.

Besides, quattro GmBH is Audi's in-house tuner firm, a la M Division and AMG for BMW and Mercedes respectively. They make the RS cars, while Audi makes the S cars.

Although the M5 will definitely still be the better balanced car (RS6 engine will still sit too far forwards)...

...if I had a choice, I would still go for the RS6. In White. :)

Audi is developing some more RS models, and the first out will be the RS6.

Entering the market as both sedan and wagon it will break the 500 bhp mark for a family model from Audi . The engine is the same V10 as in the S6, but with a little help from turbochargers this monster will deliver 550 bhp. Also notice the extreme big brake discs, something this RS6 will need due to the rumours that the RS models will not longer have the speed limit set at 250 km/h. As usual the RS versions have twin oval exhaust pipes compared to the four pipes on the S models

Another RS model could be the Q7, looking at this prototype photographed while parked in northern Sweden.

Also this car has massive brake discs and callipers, and a front bumper with huge air intakes, close to that one on the V12 TDI concept car. But if you compare the brakes of the V12 and this prototype, the ones on these spy pictures are much bigger.

Question is what Porsche, as a big shareholder of Volkswagen AG, will say about those plans with the Cayenne turbo already existing and the Panamera coming up.

-- If this Q7 RS is true, I won't be surprised if Audi eventually comes up with an RS8 and an RS version for every model. I really hope though that they stray from AMG-territory and be more like the ///M division of BMW.

Damn that RS6 looks mean. The camouflage also made me dizzy but it's a very early prototype with 582hp it will be fricken fast :shock: . I can see the RS style exhausts on that s6 estate and it can't be stock so much be another prototype or maybe he just got new exhausts? :? . That Q7 looks mean and i already like the Q7 in black so this looks even better. Thanks for the news :wink:

So, you think the R8 is all you need? Well think again, if you want to keep up with your neighbours Porsche Turbo you will need some more power. And for that case Audi is developing the R8 into a RS8. Let the R8 join the Carreras and Astons Vantage, but if you want to play with the big boys you will need something else.

The RS8 is your answer, the V10 comes from the Lamborghini Gallardo but probably detuned to 490-500 bhp but the speed and sound are there. The main visible difference to the R8 are the bigger air intakes on the sides and newly designed side skirts. Also the front brakes appear to be bigger. Looking at it, driving high-speed test at the Nürburgring it really shows how well balanced the RS8 is. Smoothe in and out through every curve, and very quick on the long straight. The RS8 is developed by Audi’s sport division, Quattro GmbH who also develop the RS6.

Will it beat the Porsche Turbo? Well it got the looks and it got the speed, so I guess we just have to wait for the first duell between those two.
