Corvette killer?
Do you think that the new GT-R is going to be faster than the Z06?
http://img169.imagevenue.com/loc706/..._122_706lo.JPG I doubt it, but one thing is for sure, is ugly as hell. |
God I hope so ... teach all those hicks that there are better cars out there.
|
it doesn't look that bad, but is it a looker not really. the evo x is way uglier IMO.
|
The concept was much more beautiful. And sure is a corvette killer.
|
Wow, and I thought the concept was ugly!
those numbers are impressive. |
I got more excited by the triple German V8 comparison test :D Seriously though, if those numbers are real, the car is very impressive and definitely something to watch for

I will take the Z06 anyday over this ugly thing. I am sure it will be bloody fast, but I don't wanna only enjoy the car at night where noone can see it's hidious shape.
|
The concept wasn't the prettiest thing out there to start with, so I'm surprised they managed to make it even worse, that interior looks like it belongs into a truck, I guess the performance saves face somewhat, but still... :|
|
I can't have a final opinion about the car cause the design is, at least ,different  I'm pretty sure that after japanese tuners put their hands in this model it will look way better :P
But the interior is very design for what I've seen so far :? |
^ Funniest reply of the day, but total bullshit of course.
Haven't seen a proper test or footage of this new GT-R, but for me it's Z06 for the win. RWD, NA and MT is how I like my cars. |
Killer? No. But a good alternative for pussies with money and think that they can "race" in their luxury sports car.
I actually think it looks a bit better than the concept. |
Does this thing only come as a two-pedal-car? Its damn fast, but if you have to use flappy paddles to change gears that puts me off to this car, not to mention the odd looks. It sure is damn fast though, I wonder how it sounds...
As to Z06 killa, nah, looks to be a pretty fair match performance wise (without seeing all the performance numbers). |

It delivers what its niche market wants . . . the chance to spend way more money than necessary for a certain level of performance. At least these cars are too pricey for the average Civic driver to rice out.
|
Whatever. If it matches the Corvette performance, it's no surprise. I mean, with that kind of price, it'd better match the Corvette. But somehow, I don't think it will. Definitely not on looks or power...and perhaps speed.
|
Well most American auto magazines are crap so I will wait for proper testing or a review from a few more magazines to start really judging how this car matches up against it's price stable mate the Z06 and the car it was design tested with the 997TT.
For starters if the numbers are real then killer not so much maybe but highly competitive $$$$$ yes! At it's price point it is out of reach for the "ricer" crowd for the most part but in a territory that will have to lure away Z06 and 911 owners. Lots of owners want heritage as with Vette and 911 crowds, so what does the GTR bring to the table that an American with this kind of money will appreciate other than shear numbers? Is it fit and finish beyond the others, does it connect the driver directly to the road, there is much for us to learn in the coming months. |
