Chevy V8! Top Gear should do it themselves, and I know for a fact that Ultimas can go over speed bumps.

I've seen vids of the record lap, but not this one.
Look at it powerslide past that pile of tires at 0:56m into the lap!

Pretty impressive, and I think I prefer such kind of filming, with slight different angles and onboard cameras, aswell as no voice over, rather than what TG does :)

Im sorry, but where is the vyron there?

Bugatti won't let them run it on their track, although they let Top Gear race a Veyron against a Cessna and a Eurofighter, and let one loose for a top speed run at the Ehra Lessien. I suppose a private owner could do what they did with the Ultima, but I somehow doubt that it'll end up at the top.

You may be right, but dont forget the vyron is not light at all - something about 1,9 tonns.
And it may be not the fastest one (big ?) , but IMO its the absolute car king. I mean, yeah some light care like this one may be(?) faster, but look at all the other stuff - the interior, the noise, the comfort, and the look. Its all much better in the vyron. It may be a matter of taste, but to me the look of this gtr is rubbish.

HeilSvenska 12-22-2007 10:36 PM

I had a chance to see an Ultima Can-Am up close and it was well built, I thought. Sure, the Bugatti is the ultimate car. But it does cost a lot more than the Ultima. (10x)

By they way, why are you spelling the Veyron as the vyron?

It is in the United States and in Europe. Probably too in Canada.

I dunno. I kinda like that old school Le Mans race car look.

sentra_dude 12-23-2007 02:11 PM

Hell yeah! That was a badass display of the crushing speed of the Ultima. ;-)

The noise? Are you kidding, the Veyron sounds no where near as good as the Ultima! The look? The Ultima certainly isn't a looker, but to me its purposefulness alone makes it look better than the ugly mesh of TT & Beetle that is the Veyron...

I disagree. The Veyron is beautiful and sounds as a simfony of endless power and elegance. The noise of the gta is not bad, but not SO good.
And I realy would be ashamed to drive such a ugly car.

The sound of the Veyron is much too boring for a supercar. Haha, ashamed? :-P Well, one more Ultima for me I guess (not that I could afford it)...

Hmm, different strokes for different folks?

I like the Veyron, but I like the Ultima more, and I thought the Veyron's W16 sounded like just 2 V8s running at the same time. Ultima, though, sounds like it should. Looks are a personal taste, but the Ultima is just more alluring.

I agree about the Veyron's sound... mostly anyway. Very unexotic. ... but the styling on the Ultima GTR... if it were wider, or perhaps, the cockpit narrower, and the tail longer ( like a proper prototype racer)

the Veyron is a stylists car.... a bit bulbous in the nose, but every other angle is becoming of it :)

dutchmasterflex 12-24-2007 02:29 AM

This had to be affiliated with Top Gear some how.. They ARE using their track and the camera angles, etc are the same as in the show except cut to show the whole timed lap.

I wonder why they didn't include it in an episode..
