The Hayabusa of my Father
|
I've always wanted a ride on one. I sat on one in the showroom a few weeks back and it wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be.
I am building a 1/12 Tamiya model of a Busa X1 right now as it happens  |
its not the weight that makes them hard to handle its the wheel base....but I love the paint scheme on that buas. Looks fantastic.
|
 tell the guys who ampaigned Hayabusas in Formula Xtreme they are "too long to turn"... hehe.
There is something surreal about witnessing a Busa going far quicker around a track than it is suppoesd to :) |
So is this like the the straight line monster of bikes?
|
Yes - but don't let the straightline idea fool you... a well sorted Busa with a top notch rider can go through the twisties like a raped ape. :)
Of course there are a lot of othr bikes that are much easier to ride faster through the bends - but with equal riders an all out race-replica sport bike will demolish the Hayabusa anywhere expect the longest straight line. |

So this is my type of bike then. A pain in the arse and challenging but damn you have to feel good when you smoke all of the boys in their hondas. |
^^^^ well - it takes a very talented rider to extract that kind of behaviour from the Busa... normally the squids and posers just run wide and fuck into a dicth
|
^^^a defensive stance for the Honda's? haha

I've always preferred the Ducatis...a matter of looks...but this is a very cool bike...I have just one question..Knowing the roads here in Brazil, where can ure dad ride the Busa, before finding a "buraco" on the street? (buraco=pothole)

But there is really nothing in it bewteen the similar generations of GSXR1100/ZX9R/FZR1000/CBR900's - that afer 15 years matured into the same players - just different names GSXR1000/ZX10R/YZFR1/CBR1000RR. With motorcycle, rider wins EVERY time. It is not like cars where electronic wizardy can take a mediocre driver and have them go super fast. To thrash a sport bike through the canyons is all rider. I cannot count how many times I was able to hustle my 10 year old 100hp, 750cc V4 RC45 through the woods quicker than a newer 130hp+ 1000cc modern superbike piloted by a poser. ;) Oh - and local road knowledge count boat loads as well. :) I have also done my share of leading a bothersome squid into a tightening hairpin knowing that they are abotu to scare themselves shitless... ANd of course, never forget there is ALWAYS someone quicker than you - so don't be surprised when just as you think "Man - I was peotry in motion through that last set of swich backs - Rossi eat your heart out" - some bastard stuffs up the inside knee down, sparks flying, pillion passanger hanging off waving at you  And to make matters worse they are riding a clapped out 58hp 1979 Honda CX500 - you know the one with so much frame flex you would swear there was a hinge donw the middle :) |
