LoL... the sad thing is that it's true

The owner of the car has several other supercars and also owns the only FXX in the Netherlands.

TopGearNL 04-22-2007 01:11 PM

Yeah real shame!

LEXION 04-22-2007 01:30 PM

How did the fire start?

to bad for the car

stmoritzer 04-22-2007 01:41 PM

this ain't the first 599 to burn?

TopGearNL 04-22-2007 01:46 PM

It was on Swiss plates BTW, this owner has more cars on other countries plates.

How unfortunate for the car and driver :( It seems like this was an accident... and I guess that's more acceptable than a poorly executed publicity stunt (I am NOT referring to Eddie Griffin :P )

^ The owner was driving through a local town when he first smelled a scent of gasoline. Not much later, flames were coming out the bonnet and he decided to park the car in the side of the road and call the emergency services. Ferrari already took the car back to Italy to investigate what went wrong, and I heard the owner is already getting a new one..

ViperASR 04-23-2007 11:23 AM

I'll take the seats  Oh, and the prancing horse off the trunk lid.

This is the man who owned the black Carrera GT wich was split in half a few years ago after giving his keys to an unexperienced driver (lady).
