i find it so boring that american companies have so little forward-thinking right now, that they are forcing themselves to look backwards to come up with ideas. In the 60s, American car companies were styling leaders in the industry....now they're just stuck.
they gotta move on, innovate again.......

There are a lot more people with a lot more money that will spend most of it on "the good old days" look - witnessed by the hundreds of thousands, and millions in some cases, spent on hotrods at auctions.
Not everyone can pay $300,000 (or even $90,000) for an orginal Challenger etc... but many people can and will pay $30K for a cool cars.
Millions and millions and millions of Mustangs sold has proved this to be true.
US manufacturers are in the trouble they are BECAUSE they tried to meet the Japs, Krauts, Poms and EyeTies....
People want "yesteray" when it is nostalgic and true to form/function.... can you say New Beetle success, New Mini Success?? ;)
Bring on decent "clones" of the past - not watered own "euro-friendly" versions.
That's where the money is.
