thanks for showing your collection :D |
Impressive!!!!!!!!!!! Holy fuck!!!
The F40(s) ... who made/makes them? |
That's a whole lot of models you've got there, RC! Very impressive.
I liked the detail of the white F40. Is it one of those from Herpa? |

Those were all collected over about 10 years or so. |

BTW: I have an F40 in scale 1:87 by Herpa and that one's also amazing. Everything but the doors open just like with the 1:43! |
Here are a couple close-ups of the Herpa F40's...
I have had the one since 1987 or 88, when it was originally released - and yes in those days it created a HUGE stir - unprecedented detail and low price... although real F40's were changing hands for millions at the time - and some nutters were paying $1000.00+ for these little beauts as well ;) I'l get around to snapping a few shots of the Testarossas and the 348's one of these days. http://img29.exs.cx/img29/1319/herpa_f40_a.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/1917/herpa_f40_b.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/8583/herpa_f40_c.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/6633/herpa_f40_d.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/8599/herpa_f40_e.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/3443/herpa_f40_f.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/7632/herpa_f40_g.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/5108/herpa_f40_h.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/6605/herpa_f40_i.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/1989/herpa_f40_j.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/7374/herpa_f40_k.th.jpg http://img29.exs.cx/img29/3217/herpa_f40_l.th.jpg |
Great pictures, RC! :D
Why do you have two reds? I'm sure TT will be able to find one of these if he wants one. I see them around sometimes for low prices. EDIT: 1987?! I knew it was a long time ago, but I hadn't realised it was that long. I was 8 at the time, LOL! |

Up until that point I had never seen a 1:43 model of my favourite muslce car - the 1969 Z28 Camaro... and here were a bout 7 different colours styles at $1.59 each... So I dropped $30 on a bunch of cars. Then I discovered Wal-Mart was "mis-pricing" these things all over, and I was able to get Plymout Road Runners in 8 paint schemes for the price of 1 regular car. This then allowed me to amass this crazy collection of muscle cars - and it got to the point where I started justifying spending $40.00 on a "missing" version of a car because I bought so many for $2.. This then became the justification for getting every 1:43 Matchbox I could and Hot Wheels Ferrari 355.. and not just one - but one of each body style.. then the vettes started, then the pickup trucks... Then I came across the stash of receipts one day .. and what a sobbering moment to see just how much fucking cash I plowed into these bastards... Thats when I stopped - cold turkey... I have sinced passed up the 575M and 612 and a few BBR Enzo's and the Ferrari transporter, and the race cars etc. I tried 1:18 for a little while, hoping the size would scare me off from getting too many... that kind of worked. Now I am addicted to slots... Is there a "model cars anonymous" we can attend? :D |
large collection
