What was the last movie you watched?

The Bourne Ultimatum... two times :) and it was kickass once again

9/10

blinkmeat 08-29-2007 05:30 PM

got a copy of bourne?

gangajas 08-29-2007 05:35 PM

Chungking Express

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109424/

Quite different to a commercial movie, the photography and the sound are very realistic, not special effects at all. The movie is about life and love.

8/10

regele 08-29-2007 05:37 PM

Knocked Up, it was mildly funny and I expected more on that front, but at least the chick was hot 6.5/10

I want the Bourne one too, where did you get it from Arman?

Same movie, same score. A refreshing approach to an action movie where the hero isn't the computer animation.

ARMAN 08-29-2007 05:41 PM

Knoked up was funny saw it previously to Bourne. I wached it at friends house :)

The Simpson's Movie - 10/10

I haven't been brought to tears while laughing in a long time. Obviously a prerequisite to giving this movie a 10 out of 10 is loving the Simpsons to begin with. But being a big Simpsons fan, I feel, makes me a harsher critic of the movie - and I was not disappointed. It is on the short side, with a running time of 1 hour and 28 minutes. But it's one of those movies that you know if it were any longer it would just get old. So I'm glad they stuck to the formula of 90 minutes of greatness vs. 170 minutes of wondering "when is this fucker going to end?"

Mr.Vercetti 08-29-2007 07:58 PM

Only 7/10 for Scarface?.. Do you want to say hallo to my little f***** friends Dani?? :P

The last movie I saw in the cinema was Transformers(7/10) and in dvd(hd 720p:p) the Ghost Rider(7/10).

2010: The Year we Made Contact - The sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey

http://imdb.com/title/tt0086837/

just saw it this morning, it was pretty good, i'd defenately reccomend it to u guys to watch, my only complaint is that in every second of the space scenes the starts kept moving half a milimeter.... 80's CG ,lol ---- 9.5/10

blinkmeat 08-29-2007 10:56 PM

Swing Kids http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108265/plotsummary

Soon dancing and fun leads to more difficult choices as the Nazi's begin tightening the grip on Germany. Hey did you watch that on AMC? I was watching that movie today too!

vexor 08-30-2007 12:29 AM

^^^ yep

5vz-fe 08-30-2007 12:56 AM

Next

Nicolas Cage, Jessica Biel

Plot: Cage can see into his own future (~2 mins) FBI try to use his abilities to track down Nuclear bomb location.

The movie was pretty entertaining if you put away some of the logical flaws.

7/10

r2r 08-30-2007 01:56 AM

Good idea for a topic!

'Superbad' 9/10

Was surprisingly very funny, and would recommend it to those who usually would not watch this kind of movie

TNT 08-30-2007 10:15 AM

Crimson Tide http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112740/

Plot: On a US nuclear missile sub, a young first officer stages a mutiny to prevent his trigger happy captain from launching his missiles before confirming his orders to do so.

8/10 great drama, and a must for war/military fans.

^^^ really good movie, but probably not as good as the movie that i've just watched

The Hunt for Red October

http://imdb.com/title/tt0099810/

9.2/10

TNT 08-30-2007 03:14 PM

^^ yeah Hunt for Red October is a awesome movie.

novass 08-30-2007 11:34 PM

The Reaping: 5/10 - It was OK. If you have some time to kill, it's kind of entertaining. Predictable plot, decent visuals, average acting.

Superbad: 8/10 - I really didn't think this movie was going to be any good but I actually liked it quite a bit.

Knocked Up: 6/10 - Some funny scenes, but nothing too special.

28 Weeks Later: 6/10 - Not bad for a sequel, but the original was far better and much more of a scary movie. This one had a few good scenes, but felt more like an action movie IMO

The Host: 7/10 - Not too bad of a movie. The plot is nothing new, but the interaction with the main characters is pretty good and quite funny.

Transformers: 9/10 - I may have given this such a high score because I LOVE Transformers. Visuals were great, Megan Fox was hot and it was freakin Transformers!

Those are the movies I have seen in the past week or so.

vexor 08-31-2007 02:08 AM

just saw The Number 23

pretty good for a thriller but there are better ones out there

7/10

Bizi Jones 08-31-2007 04:23 AM

it was a Seagal movie...I think it was 'Marked for Death'...

and any Seagal movie deserves a 10/10 8)

regele 08-31-2007 06:44 AM

Superman returns, it didn't really deliver, too little action, too much of a look into superman's love life and he comes back from the dead a million times 4/10

I see superbad mentioned here alot, if you didn't watch it do it, it's really funny.

Very good movie. I really like Edward Norton, actually it's my favourite actor if I had to chose one, but I wasn't really interested in the movie... but I gave it a try... and it was indeed GREAT!! :D

Watch The prestige if you haven't yet, it's also about magicians, but it's even better and it'll keep you in suspense till the very end.

frozzu 08-31-2007 02:32 PM

The number 23.
9/10

Really good movie and I enjoyed it all the way till the end. Even though Jim Carrey usually plays more comedy kind of movies, he's really good in this movie. After the film I even felt a bit puzzled for a few moments. So really a psychology kind of movie.

Wild Hogs

8.5/10

Really the opposite to the number 23. Very good comedy where you can really laugh. One of the best comedies I've watched in a while. Great star actors like Travolta and Martin Lawrence. If you want something to make you in a good mood, I recommend this movie. You just can't stop laughing about Dudley :D.

Prestige was a fun movie to watch, just as the Illusionist was... but I tip my hat to Illusionist for plot, and Prestige for the "Michael Cane" factor :P

no. 23 was awsome... typically, i think "Focus features" suck balls... but this was pretty good.

Stardust... watched it again! Great film... good to take a date on :)

Seriously? :P I wouldn't give it more then 5/10. I never liked Transformers, but after the trailers I thought I'd change my mind. The movie kinda sucked though I think. Some great, scenes but too many things like ruined it - like the sector 7 guys, the little annoying thing that turned into a boombox and generally bad story.

I grew up with Transformers, so I think that factored heavily into my decision. You can't go into a movie like this and expect Schindler's List with robots LOL I expected to see some cheesiness because I knew they were going to market more to today's kids rather than the kids that grew up with it. It was fun to watch and that was all I was expecting :D

I haven't seen it yet either but it's on my netflix cue. It seems like something I'd like a lot but I haven't built up the motivation to watch it yet. Even to get the jokes from that south park episode that makes fun of 300.

gangajas 09-01-2007 05:35 PM

Grave of the Fireflies

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095327/

Very, very, very sad movie. It shows how devastating war is. The relationship between the two brothers is really beautiful. The ending made me cry.

There was no other option, she had to make coffee
That episode was great, if you just want to get the jokes, just look at some trailers of 300, they're quite obvious, but looks like you're in the same situation as I am, a couple of movies away from watching it :D

Really liked this one, I didn't get bored at all throughout it, there are a few interesting twists and although it uses some overly used ideas, at least it does it in a somewhat ingenious way, so it gets a 9.5 from me.

acmarttin 09-04-2007 06:27 PM

I watched Fargo last night.

-> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116282/

If you missed this one you should go back and watch it, it's a Cohen Bros. movie.....so....now I don't have to say anything else. Except it's a crime drama.

10/10 (fo' realz)

LOL! I find the accent funny too. I grew up in Wisconsin (same sort of accent there) but luckily I never adopted it. I thank early childhood in Colorado for that. But everytime I watch Fargo it reminds me of home. *shivers*

where eagles dare

one of my all time favorite movies...

novass 09-30-2007 09:58 PM

Kicken it old school - 4/10 - There were a couple of funny scenes, but not many. Only reason I gave it a four is for the 80s memories it evoked.

Sunshine - 5/10 - Good idea but the way it was put together was kinda half assed IMO.

The Fountain - 4/10 - Decent visuals, kind of an interesting plot, but it was one of those movies I found myself just waiting for it to end.

War - 6/10 - The action was good but the plot was really nothing too new or innovative. It had a decent twist, but I cared more about the action.

Ratatouille - 6/10 - It had some funny moments, the animation looked pretty good, but it was more of a kids movie I think.

saadie 09-30-2007 10:08 PM

Ratatouille 7/10 - the ending wasnt really good though

Surf's Up 9/10 - really really funny .. the story line is very nice too

The Simpsons movie - ...... average :\ .. didnt like it atall .. except for the spider pig part :\ .... the rating is deffinetly below 5 ...

Death Proof 9/10

if I’m not mistaken I think it’s the latter half of the “Grindhouse” project (the one Tarantino directed) they released it as 2 separate movies here which they are, they are 2 full length feature films with entirely different stories. anyways “Death Proof” is the most entertaining film I watched this year plus it has loads of car crashes and car chases in it, well the main character is a crazed stunt driver (Kurt Russell) it even features a dodge challenger paying an homage to “vanishing point” and a lots of very hot ladies who talk alot which is the only thing that bothered me about this movie it’s the girl talk I mean it’s surprisingly interesting girl talk in that Tarantino-esque sort of way but it’s a lot of bullshit quite frankly although good bullshit in a way, other than that it’s an awesome awesome movie, even my girl friend liked it she described it a “feminist guy’s movie”.
Anyways lots of hot girls, muscle cars and lots of chasing and running into things I really recommend it!

ARMAN 10-13-2007 01:09 PM

Death proof was very entertaining movie thats for sure, and the girls dialogs was created by Tarantino himself or that what he said on Letterman :D

MidEngine4Life 10-14-2007 03:55 AM

"The Sons of Katie Elder". Yea, its an old John Wayne movie. My dad went on a DVD buying spree so Im taking advantage he he

^ You mean you watched a Spanish dubbed version??

chest3r 10-24-2007 10:34 AM

So, do you watch all the movies in spanish ?? That really sucks!!

I know you translate almost everything there, bands names, etc...

BTW I've seen many movies lately. Best ones:

Mr Brooks - it's really good -17/20
The Kingdom - a bit boring at the beggining but quite good - 16/20
Hostel II - quite bad. The first one was way better - 8/20
