Sultan of Brunei's Private Airplane

Sultan of Brunei's possesses an Airbus 340 aircraft which was "remodeled" in Waco. The sinks are solid gold and one of them is Lalique crystal. The Sultan bought the aircraft for roughly $100M; had it flown to Waco, brand-new, had the interior completely removed; and had the folks at E-Systems (now Raytheon) install $120M worth of improvements inside and outside.

Have a look:

As we all know he has both..;)
The plane is a bit extravagent, but hey, its his money.

SFDMALEX 07-07-2005 12:48 AM

/\/\/\ But you have to understand that he has enough money for that plane and his own race track, and one more of these planes, and one more race track.

If I had so much damn money Id prolly do the same....Well actually Id try to help thrid world countries and help clean up corrupt east european countries.

Ummm... maybe it's because to him, there's no such thing as "wasting" money? That term is only relevant to those who have a certain supply. Such as the rest of mankind.

He's a bloody king. It's like those kings in medieval times, except instead of ornate horse carraiges and whatnot, this guy is doing it the modern way and doing it to planes and cars.

Also, it's good to work for the sultan. He pays handsomely, and when he's tired of certain cars, he gives them away to staff.

I don't like such vast amounts of gold. If I would be customising my Airbus - not that I will ever own one - I would be using more materials as titanium, carbon fibre, and brushed aluminium to give my Airbus interior a personal exclusive touch. I never really liked the colour of gold. In small amounts it looks fine. But in such huge amounts it looks a bit ugly to me.
