Release of official pictures Alfa Romeo GTV, Brera

Dutch car magazine Autovisie has confirmed they (and therefore numerous other car magazines) already have the official pictures of Alfa's GTV successor (Brera?), which will be published next tuesday, 1 february.

Can't wait!!! :D

If it will look anything like the Brera it is bound to be a success. *crosses fingers*

It will. :D If you go to italiaspeed.com, on the 2nd News Page there's one pic of a almost undisguised GTV. Can't wait for this car. :D

More pics will follow when I'll wake up next morning (probably somebody else will have opened a topic in the gallery section then ;) )

Some info:

It will be launched with 3 engines: a 185 hp 2.2 JTS, a 3.2 V6 with 260 horsies and a 200 hp 2.4 JTD diesel. A 6-speed manual and a 5-speed auto gearboxes will be available, as will be 4WD on some cars. The first life presentation for the public will be held at the Geneva motorshow and it will hit the Alfa showrooms in the second half of 2005.

Excellent! Thanks a lot, Wutputt!!! :P

It looks sensational! They've adapted the Brera looks onto this smaller car very well. Even the four exhausts are there. LOL I also really like it that they have decided to let the windscreen look like it runs up to the roof, like the Brera prototype also had. I'm curious to know whether it's a black roof or really glass. It's not really clear in the pictures. At the time of the protoype Giugiaro thought such a big glass surface with only a small bar across at the front wouldn't be feasible on a production car. Not because of safety (just as safe as a conventional roof), but because of the public's perception of it being less safe. I really hope Alfa Romeo have been bold here.

Well the roof really is glass, I don't know if it's standard or optional. Production will start somewhere in September, and besides the 2.2 JTS, 3.2 V6, and 2.4 JTD, there will be available a 3.0 JTD with 250 hp, and a biturbo 3.2 V6 with more than 300 hp later on (2007 probably). Also a Spider version will be launched later on.

As for extra pics: I don't think we'll have them today, cause they aren't releasing any. But I have some info how the interior would look like. It will resemble quite like the Alfa 157/158 (replacement of the 156) with two round dials as dashboard. In between those two will be a display and on the centre console you'll have 3 little gauges and round air vents.

Is it just me or does the Alfa Badge's aqua color seem more prominent?

Also the 3.2 V6 Biturbo was said to have 400hp, not 300.
