Xvid....Need Help please
I want to install Xvid, but have no idea how to. I got the zip file from their website, but i cannot see .exe file when I unzip it. Do I paste it somewhere? Any help will be greatly appreciated
I'm pretty sure I had an installer from the site when I needed the XVID codec
hmm interesting, maybe I got some Beta version. Do you still have the link? and btw that was quick
No link but I see still the exe I downloaded this August stored in my PC... maybe not the latest version.. but if you want I can mail it to you...
There're many different build for XviD, each one is a little bit different. If you just want to play XviD, just download ffdshow. It plays most mpeg-4 based codec, even the microsoft ones. Built in support for sub too.
you might have gotten the source code, you must get the installer.
Ill help ya out mate http://demonwares.net/XviD_Install.exe |
yep, thats what I needed, thnx a lot bud :D
no prob
I advise u to download an .exe file. But if u r bored then open the .ini file (there should be one). There shoul be a list of files...copy all of them to your
WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ folder. |
^thnx man, but I already got that fixed :D
Another thing you can try is to install a codec pack, something like Nimo Codec pack which has many of the codecs together. Or just trying looking around for codec packs. It sorta minimises the time looking for a particular codec when you realy want to watch a show and you only have sound and no video, or only video and no sound.
What packs would you recommend, keep in mind that I already have Nimo and Xvid.
AFAIK nimo has about most everything, except for the Indeo codecs. Maybe because you did a basic or custom install that's why you're possibly missing a few codecs. But if everything works now, then don't mess with it :)
