Jaguar XJ220 Rebodied by Pininfarina

October 7th, 2006-During the mid-nineties, the Sultan of Brunei and his brother Prince Jefri secretly bought hundreds of supercars and had them custom appointed by the best in the business. One of these, which hasn't surfaced until just recently, is this custom Jaguar XJ220 that has been completely redone by Pininfarina. Unlike a certain Ferrari Enzo which just received its makeover, this XJ220 was the fastest car in the world when the Sultan possibly sent one or two to Pininfarina's studio for a new body and interior. Like the Ferrari, this Jaguar was extensively reworked and no doubt benefited from hours of wind tunnel testing and development. The question remains, just how much faster did Pininfarina make the XJ220 go? In any case, the new design must have dropped a few pounds as this cat is noticeably smaller and uses fixed headlights to replace the clunky originals. At the rear a double-vaned wing is employed which may have included active aerodynamics. We have no idea what the interior looks like, or just how much better the Pininfarnia XJ220 is, but we do know that the Sultan was willing to pay any amount to make his cars the best. As an example, this car sits in one of the Sultan's most treasured garages alongside two black McLaren F1 LMs, four Ferrari FXs and fifteen other XJ220s! Hopefully, in the future we will see more of these 'Sultan Specials' come to light, as each equally deserve their own story. As far as the recently released materlist is concerned, we now know what 'JAG XJ220 NONE 2' is probably reffering to, but others like 'JAG MONACO BN108 SAJJNAF53ER193339' leave us wondering. i am sure i have seen that pic somewhere b4...

not bad :?
|
Looks better than the original. Never was a fan of this car's styling, though.
|
Not bad but the XJ220 own design has someting special ! :D
|
15 other XJ220s! God daaaamn they like their Jags!
Looks kind of cool, but I prefer the original. |
^They have large families. ;)

Looks like shit. The XJ220 was too big, but it was a beautiful, sleek car, exactly like a Jag should look. This looks like the result of a Shelby SSC Aero, a Pininfarina Mythos having fornicated. The front end looks like crap. Why the hell make a sort of double-oval grill where the outer oval has crappy tacked-on looking intakes? It gives the Jag's nose a distinct moustache...very nearly a Fu-Man-Chu one. The styling is way too fussy, not anywhere near as clean as the original. Some things are better left on paper.

ugh, not exactly pretty... reminds me of an XJR15 for some reason, only a f**ked-up XJR15...

This guy really needs to do something better with his money :\
|

if the Sultan should've done anything IMO... switch in the 7.0 liter pushrod V12 from the Group C car... |
Never been a fan of this car, dont think this will help change my mind
|
I also prefer the original car ... But at least they created something different  The same way of thinking gave us the Ferrari P4/5 and some say that Brunei's creations kept Aston Martin and Bentley alive during the 80's/90's.
