Engine rattles once warm

Alright, my piece of shit is slowly becoming an even bigger piece of shit.

The car is still under warranty, so I'm not too worried about having it fixed, since i own't cost me anything.

When I start the car, it's a bit rough, but once the engine gts up to temp, it makes a lot of noise. It rattles pretty loudly. The intensity rises and falls with the gas pedal as well.

Anyone have a clue as to what it is?
Lifters? Valves? I'm guessing lifters, but I'm not too sure.

I can't wait till this thing is paid off, I'm gonna roll it off of a goddamn cliff.

what kind of car is it?

there's a chance the timing chain tensioner is shot causing the chain to rattle and be off time just a bit. If it has a chain of course, but most cars do these days.

hell it could be lifters or valves or it could be rod knock it could be spark knock that sounds like actual mechanical knock.

yeah, without actually hearing the noise it's tough to say. Let the dealer figure it out

It's a Ponticrap Grand Am GT. 2.4L engine

I'm pretty sure it's a metal on metal contact, when I fist start the car, it rattles really fast and then quiets down. Then once the car warms up it comes back and is louder.

I just need it to last 5 more months, then it's paid off and gone. I've hated this thing since the day I bought it. LOL
