BMW 635CSi - Where to go for parts?
 

Hey guys..

So my Dad recently got a very nice looking 1985 BMW 635CSi, but as it happens, buying an older car comes with it's share of problems, and ours is no exception.

There is quite a lot of work to do, especially on the Brakes, air con and the on board computer... I have got a list of part numbers, and since i am now living in the states, my dad & I thought it was cheaper to look for parts here, than to officially import them in brazil...

But I've no idea where to look... Zfrk, I remeber you were a BMW mechaninc, perhaps you can help me with this... I haven't got any pictures of the car, as it hasn't been at home yet, and neither have I, but as soon as it's ready, I shall take pictures...

the 635 csi is a mega cool car! I love its style, and sound :) When its ready, i'd love to see some photos :)

unfortunately, I can't help you much on finding parts... so hopefully phobos link helps, and later tonight/ soon zfrk chimes in.

I have to find out where to buy them now, maybe Zfrk can help with that...but it gave me a good idea on the prices, which is great

well, if you PM me a list of the parts you need, part numbers would be mega helpful, i can TRY and match them up here. I don't know how many promises i can make on that though.

I don't even know if the part number sequencing is different there or not, but i don't see how it would be beneficial to have different sets of part numbers for different regions.

part numbers are 11 digits, typically last 7 are on the part.

ex: 34-21-2-163-539 (this may or may not be an actual number, i try not to memorize them because they change so damn frequently). Typically, the 2 163 539 is what is stamped somewhere on the part. It's sometimes a bitch to see. I need at least the last 7. the vehicle's VIN would also be helpful...possibly...

I have all of that, Zfrk.. I will send you the excel spreadsheet, but that would have to be done by email... the car is all original, and i believe it to be euro spec, so the parts correspond to BMW part numbers...at least they do on that site Phobo posted
