Don't know if this is a repost... but it seems that 2010 is the year for 'eco' cars to come out.

Yeah - all the eco-cars will be made with component produced in pollution making plants in china made from plastics produced from oil drilled in the middle east, just so soggy pants liberal tree huggers in the west can get "50mpg" from their eco-cars bought with profits from carbon off-set credits they sold.

Yeah, thats gonna reduce green house gases. :laugh::mrgreen:

Canada (and the UK) will benefit from an increase in temperature, longer growing seasons, better climate, abundant resources :D

then again the argument was made with windmills back in the 80s-90s regarding production vs saved resources. and modern windmills can offset there total production footprint in 3months of usage... then again this was over 20+yrs of development.

Give us 20yrs of actual 'eco-cars' development (not just short run production cars and then scrap the project ie. GM's EV1) and we will see a drastic change in the production method and use of resources.

That car looks nice :mrgreen: , but that PRICE!!!!! :crying: 20,000 to 30,000 EUROS!!! thats way too much :ohmy:.

What incentive does China have to "clean up" anything?

They have 1 billion expendable workers..... who would they be "saving the environment" for?

china is not known for their amazing advancement in tech. the problem is currently they price of researching new tech to save resources is more expensive then using that resource to make the same item. and this is where china's 1billion workers come in.

we didn't run out of stones to when we left the stone age, we didn't run out of bronze when we left the bronze age, and we won't run out of oil when will leave the 'oil age'

global warming is happening, it is going to happen, it will still happen after there are no more humans on earth.... (since 99% of all species on earth have become extinct)

this isn't a counter point for my argument (because it is a rather of topic rant) but I am just happy to see companies going through on some projects that they have been working on hopefully for the better...
