The F1 cars aren't too expensive. And shumacher doesn't buy them. Generally, if you know who to talk to (which can be very easy), you can buy one.
The F2000 is going up for auction by Bonhams. This car is significant since it was the first one MS won a title in for Ferrari (after their super long drought).
As for buynig an F1 car, you can get a late 80's Ferrari F1 car as low as 300k. And ferrari is very very good about supporting the cars and owners who buy them, which is impressive given the crap service we mere mortal owners receive.
