why would Ford replace their GT racer with a Shelby car technically they aren't the same company and if this is a homage to the Daytona it would be a totally different car than the GT/GT40 is/was they were 2 different cars that were available at about the same period in Automotive history. Anyways you don't replace something like the Ford GT they just end it's run and leave it at that. They may introduce a new car but they won't replace the GT with anything. This may be a new car from Shelby but it won't be a replacement. Especially since as soon as the projected GT run is complete SVT will refocus their efforts on the SVT Cobra and Lightning and the SVT Focus is still kind of in the air(who knows). So if the car was to be built they would have to find another place to produce it unless Shelby built them at his factory in Las Vegas by hand since they don't have assembly lines there, so if they produce this car the question is where would they build it? that's the thing with the new Shelby Cobra aswell where would they build it, there isn't really anywhere to build another car like the GT. They really can't afford to close down the SVT factory for another limited edition high performance car because the Cobra and Lightning guys will start getting fed up, I'm sure the wait already is going to be enough of a strain on sales since you will have to wait another year after the Mustang comes out and even longer for the Lightning to see another SVT car.
