I picked this movie thinking that it would be again one of those leave your brains out and enjoy the action movies, but I was wrong. I think this was a good movie. I think Leonardo DiCaprio finally looks like a man and not an ugly boy. Ofcourse the plot is somewhat cheesy with the Jennifer Connelly in the picture, but not too cheesy. The message of the movie is strong and if you think about how those things described in the movie really happen in real life, it makes you feel sick.

This movie was actually dulled down and significantly sanitized for general display around the world.
The real brutality of Africa at war as so much worse than anything that movie could portay.
But it is good that these types of stories are beginning to be made - but there is a long way to go before the true magnitude of the humanitarian disaster that is Africa is fuly exposed.

Might I also recommend Lord of War too. I thought that was a pretty good take a well. Although definitely from a different perspective.
But I was actually surprise at how good this movie was. Yeah, like before anything with Di Caprio I might shy away from, but I was genuinely surprised at how good this movie was.
Definitely a Thumbs Up!
