Nice rediscovery! That's what makes so many of the older V8 engines sound better than many of the new ones . . . camshafts with some decent duration on them. Too many LS1 guys try to make all of their power with big lift and only a little more duration. I absolutely love the sound my TA makes from idle at 750 rpm with its 268 degrees of duration. (That's the advertised figure, not the duration @ 0.50 lift . . . if anyone cares, here are the specs for the camshaft I'm running:
