It's from 1998, but I'm not sure which episode.
Because of the numberplates it must be after October 1997 and I thought the Golf IV GTI was not for sale yet in the UK in October 1997, sales only started in December, but it could have been aired on December 4th, 1997. It can't be from 1999, 2000 or 2001 because Clarkson had left Top Gear in those years.
