The Quantum-Optical technology has a minimum sustained write speed of 6 gigabytes (GB) per second and a read speed of 8 GB per second.
yeah not so slow. However, there's no interface capable of supporting that type of speed. Even processor sockets are 6.4 GB/s (socket 478)

I browsed that site a little though, and it looks as though they're making some of the cards compatible with normal IDE pins. Pity IDE maxes out at 133 MB/s
