Sad, sad stories...

I think it's probably the period of a few months after getting a car like that that are most dangerous. The moment you think you've got the car figured out and reach that false sense of security is when it gets tricky. These cars require all attention with driving anyway.

Track time and a few thousands of kms on the road aren't enough preparation for driving high performance cars fast AND safe. IMO everyone who buys a car like that should be aware of it and do an advanced driving course for road driving. Experienced trainers can teach everyone a lot of useful additional skills and give drivers new insight.
