That's not even good writing . . . it's just an attempt to write the most pathetic sad story of all time. The utter sadness makes it all kind of ludicrous. It sounds more like a caricature of a sad story, but WOW. Suggest Little House on the Prairie or a biography of some sort to your wife . . .
