Film is dead, I still shoot it because, I am a really the old die hard. The writing is on the wall. It is hard to find 4x5 film, most shops are not reordering it. Already it is impossible to find quickload Velvia 4x5. 35mm Velvia is probably next to go then I will have to switch. The number of labs processing film is drying up each day.
Digital is here and it is fantastic.
You have bought the what may be the best camera in the world. Congratulations.
I am still waiting for the right time to dive in, but I feel the time may be getting close.

I have been waiting quite some time as well, before I went for a full pro Nikon. Reason being; That I only want to spend that kind of money on something which is top gun. Nothing more nothing less and to be honest I didn't think that the D2Hs nor the D2x have been that. D2Hs = 4mega pixel, D2x with poor noise handling. Nevertheless, these are great great cameras but not the kind of tools I would have spent that kind of money on.
Some people might say that keep on standing at the sideline in order to get one of these digital tools especially if you look how quickly everything evolves in this digital age is a stupid move. Well I don't share the same opinion. It might be something different for pros who need or want a full-frame. Most of them switched to Canon, that's for sure. It has taken Nikon a very long time but they eventually made it ... and how !?!
Keep up the good work philip and I'm sure once you go digital you will make a good decision.
