Default NY - Lower East Side Jaguar E-Type & Coney Island Trip

Been going down to NY almost every weekend lately (nothing new there) and got a chance to enjoy great Sunday weather down in famous Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York.

Picked up a couple of my friends who live down in the East Village of Manhattan and decided to take a couple test shots while waiting for them to come down to the car.

This beauty sneaked by, luckily I was able to catch it. If only I was a couple seconds quicker I'd have a better shot of it..

Coney Island - before the rebuild.

The Old Parachute Jump

Lots of open real estate for restoration

Original Boardwalk that needs to be rebuilt

Palm trees in Brooklyn?!

Original Ferris Wheel - The Wonder Wheel

Dude with a snake trying to make a $buck

He also had a couple of parrots

What a great combo

Long Island in the distance

80th Anniversary of the Cyclone - AWESOME ride due to the "rickety factor", each time it banks to turn around you think the train is about to fly off the tracks!

It was a great way to spend a Sunday with nice weather. There are big plans to restore Coney Island to the popular spot it once was back in the day. Sadly they will take down many of the rides, but will keep the Cyclone for historical purposes.
I'm really excited to see what Brooklyn becomes within the next 5 years.

Great pics, too bad about that stupid light pole being in the middle of the Jag shot... The other shots are very interesting.

How does the "The Old Parachute Jump" work? Did people jump off of it and pull a parachute?

Yeah I really wish I was just a few seconds quicker to catch the Jag.. I wasn't expecting to see anything nice at all as I was just quickly taking some test shots while waiting for my friends to come down.

I wish I could of been around when the Parachute Drop(not jump, makes much more sense) was open, cause it looks like fun. Here's a few pics that can explain how it works far better than I could explain it.

The tower is pretty high and I'd image you'd get a great view of NYC from way up there.
