Default Help making screenshots!

I have absolutely no idea how to make a screenshot from a movieclip, i.e avi, mpeg, wmv etc. I want to make screenshots for the clips I upload in the Video Vault. Do I need a stand alone program? Thankful for any help I can get..

Windows Movie maker can do it. if some files won't work you only have to make them another format.

i've also posted a similiar topic: quite good programs
http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11085

hope u can download a good one

Or do like I do for ALL the ones you can find in our home page take a picture of the screen (with a digicam), and crop/resize it

You could also just press Ctrl + Prt Sc on your keyboard which takes a screen shot of whatever is currently displayed, then paste it in a editing program (Photoshop) and crop/resize it like TT said. This is in case you haven't got a digi camera.

In my system for instance if I try to capture the screen while a movie is playing, I get a blank/black WMP window

This is true for any video overlay display component - on Win95/98/2000 or XP..

What I do is just load the clip into Premiere and go the desired frame - and export it.

Just pause the movie on the screenshot you want and then capture the screen. That works for me.

I just did it on my computer (which runs Windows XP) and it worked, so yes I'll take that $35.

You simply stated that print screen doesn't work on XP.

You never qualified WHAT function of print screen.

Since print screen is a default component of Windows XP - you lose.

Back to print screen capture of on-screen video... I already pointed out the layering fact before you posted - and is only true for Video for Windows compliant display.

But again you failed to qualify - it is completely dependent on the player being used.

So - the lesson for the day?

Always dot the I's and cross the T's before your place a bet...

The devil is in the details.

I would like you to forward my winnings to Jabba as thanks for all the work that has gone into JW...
