has anyone driven a early C5?
i hav been searching early c5 over ebay..many are really cheap, i have always wanted a 6speed 97 or a 98 4-auto. , but i really want to know if they pull hard and if they are fun? !

Yeah, they're both almost identical cars (1997- 1998). The only difference is that with the 98 you'll have less issues with the car itself in the long run. The didn't quite have all the bugs worked out in 97 for the initial year, but most were fixed for the 98. The A4 models are great for anything you could want to do. That tranny and gear set up (3.29s I think) are great for daily driving and will also give you very consistant runs on the 1/4 mile. It takes very little effort to build those cars into 420+HP cars. It's a great car and totally worth the investment.

Colorado, the gear ratio for the autos with the peformance axle are 3.15 and 2.73 without it. If you get an auto corvette97, get the performance axle.
I had a 98 Rag.

there you have it. Yeah, the 3.15s will really make a difference. There's nothing wrong with the A4 though. Great car, Great Price, Daily drivability, and Track worthy on the weekends. Go for it. Just go for the 1998 or newer.

well its gonna take a while to get the car, cuz i'am 17, but i calculate that with gods' help i can own one within the next couple of years,
coloradosilver, wich cheap mods can u do to a 1998 c5?
