Default 140MPH Over The Speed Limit

At 205 MPH, Speed Thrills
Minnesota biker cited for driving 140 mph over limit

SEPTEMBER 22--The below Minnesota speeding ticket should be in a museum someplace. That's because motorcyclist Samuel Tilley, 20, was clocked Saturday afternoon going 205 mph on his Honda 1000. That was 140 mph over the limit on U.S. Highway 61. Tilley was clocked at Indy car speeds by a State Patrol pilot flying overhead, stopwatch in hand. The pilot radioed ahead to a state trooper who pulled Tilley over and issued the reckless driving citation. Tilley, the son of a sheriff's deputy, displaces William Faenza at the top of TSG's speediest driver list. Faenza was nabbed last September when Pennsylvania cops clocked him doing 182 mph in his Lamborghini Diablo. (1 page)

Don't count on it.
What that little blrub doesn't say is that he was racing another bike. He also doesn't have a motorcycle license. I want to know why Deputy Dad let his son own and ride a modified bike without a license.
I won't be surprised if he goes to jail.

Of course, the media here is going batshit insane with it. One channel spoke with a Sheriff who said it's not uncommom for bikes to go this fast. Thats a bit hard to do, sicne the fastest bike in the world (Hayabusa) will barely reach that speed.
One channel went to Motoprimo, a bike shop, a guy there made it very clear that bikes do not go that fast without modifications.
Sportbike riders get a bad enough image without asshats like this kid and the media making it even harder.

The bike he was riding was a 1000RR with Mickey Thompson drag tires (not DOT approved) an 8" stretch and nitrous. The block was decked as well. Whatever that means. Sounds like he built it for doing this sort of thing.

Faenza was nabbed last September when Pennsylvania cops clocked him doing 182 mph in his Lamborghini Diablo.
A guy in Texas was given a ticket for 217mph a few years ago. I'll try and dig up a link.

My friend watched this on tv and the reporter said that that motorcycle cannot do that speed. He said something like "He either is a great tuner, or he has sponsors for his bike."

Congrats to the biker......he lived to tell about it......and I am sure some lawyer will prove that his bike couldn't go that fast.

id rather get 205 in a Ford GT its definately bragging rights in some respects. in others, not even getting the motorcycle licence is retarded. if anybody is familiar with New Zealand's motorcycle licence process, i think the rest of the world should adopt it, to avoid idiots out killing themselves.

The bike is impounded. The defense team could have a pro go over it and prove it's able to go that fast with those mods.

Since OJ is still free......there's no reason for that kid to be slapped on the wrist and be sent home with a strong letter to his parents

i'm sure its possible with mods, although must've been highly tuned, as a turbocharged 1300 busa "only" goes about 220/230
