Default Horrific R8 Accident

The 27-year-old driver, from Gummersbach, lost control of the car in heavy rain. Sadly, he hadn’t been wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he appears to have aquaplaned at high speed before hitting the central barrier.

There's a bit hit on the driver's side... but the cabin looks relatively untouched - I guess he would have survived just if he had used the seatbelts
I don't think so... there is that huge bend in the frame on the drivers' side, likely where he hit the central barrier; and the force of decceleration likely would've caused his head to hit either the window, or side curtain with huge force on him...

Exactly my tought....what is wrong with wearing a seat belt? It kinda makes the trip comfortable, and your more stabile while driving , you dont get the tic to bend while taking a corner......and in some cars, like Mercedes or Volvo, If you dont wear a seat belt, the airbags dont deploy, as, they could harm you even more......

Basically when there is a layer of water under your tires, so your tires aren't making contact to the ground. That's what treads in your tires do, they help "remove" and channel the water away so your rubbers touch pavement again, thus traction. The faster you go the more that layer of water builds up.

When you are hydro/aqua planning you are just sliding along water.

we all have had our stupid moments in our own cars that arent necessarily fast and expensive. unless you drive at the exact speed limit every single time you drive. could have just been one of those days gone wrong. but he could have at least worn his seatbelt.
