POLO St.Moritz - SLR on snow, 12Maybachs, G55AMG, Rclass
It's Polo time
some of you will remember last years Polo coverage, that time it was a sunny weekend, this year :bah:, the weather was not so good - cloudy weather.
Anyway, I was there and loaded my memory card with some nice and rare cars.
Last years picture can be found here or here or here
About the POLO tournament:
Since 22years, they play Polo on the frozen lake of St.Moritz (on hard snow, of course )
It's also big High Society event, therefore many luxury cars in the parking lot. Maybach was a team sponsor, so they had a tent displaying the Maybach and the SLR.The other Maybachs were used for shuttle service (together with the Mercedes G55-AMG).....
here's the link to the event
http://www.polostmoritz.com/
always nice to see the SLR again
some of the ~12 Maybach I saw
Shuttle service
G55 AMG and streched version G55L AMG , the sound of these beasts is awesome, unfortunately they drove very "gentleman's like" along the site :bah:
G55 AMG on display
and a ML 350
ML and R class used as teamcars
these have been the saturday pictures, the pics from the final (including pictures from the game and the ladies ) will be up asap.

finally those snowy pics from your sig
that SLR looks amazing on the snow
beautiful pics, the stretched AMG is "too long" for me :bah: but it's still rare just like the others. well, can we say maybach is a rare car, when you see 12 on one place at the same time?
the R looks nice in black, silver is worse...
Thanx for sharing and looking forward to see part 2
edit: I see, now I know, what is that red ball and why it is there in your sig

btw what camera do you use Moritzer? those pics looks just a bit grainy (well, compared to TT's pro pics ) and need some sharpening aswell :bah: but that's not a problem at all with PS

^ well on this event, a MAybach isn't rare
but otherwise in the wild, I've seen 2 so far, I also heard they don't sell enough Maybachs to make profit, but beeing the prestige car for DaimlerChrylser, they will never admit to loose money
as for the sig, the red ball is for playing Polo , I got one after the final and placed it on the Maybach, but with the windy weather, only 2 pics were possible, you'll see them in the next update
I'm using a SONY V3 camera, it's not a SLR, but quite good... maybe not in these tricky light conditions... :bah: most of the pics turned out quite "dark", and I had either to adjust the white balance or the brightness... don't have PS ... I used neatimage on few images (just started to use this tool)

Thank you for the pics! The SLR placed like this on snow is damn sexy! Too bad they did no effort at all and displayed again the boring silver one.. WTF! Now that they have the new colors it's time to show them!
Still great!
I was wondering which is your fav between these two pics (for the contest... and if you have another fav, please say so )

BTW, so far I had this one for you: http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...tmoritzer2.jpg

these are my favourites too, but I haven't decided yet...
personally I like the pictures thru the trees very much
btw do they have to be 1600x1200
or is 1600x800 possible too?
maybe I'll ad a black strip on the top or bottom to (create some kind of wallpaper style) get the 1600x1200

You teased us with 12 Maybachs, I can't see more than 5 or 7 j/k
As TT said, more colors ! The montains in the background are so nice but grey on white isn't the best combo ever, MB people will never understand
This one is my fav "gentlemen, start your engines" ...
Thanks for the pictures
Concerning grain, the lighting conditions looked very tricky indeed, and if many pics turned out dark even at high ISO settings there would have been no real solution (apart from a tripid which is easier to say than to do I know )

Finally the SLR in the snow pics, pure sex for the eyes
You're complaining about the cloudy weather, but the snow makes up for it IMO. Also the row of Maybachs is very impressive!!

Nice pics man! Definately like the SLR through the trees look. Really nice "framing" of the subject.

It has to be 4:3 format (1600x1200, 1024x768 and so on), or close so it could be cropped to correct proportions. And it must feature the full car
