The Question of Design
In this day an age car design is becoming somewhat forgotten, I see less and less beautiful cars coming out and this really upsets me. However, I do see hope in some places. I'm asking people to state one piece of modern car desing that really appeals to them (it can be anything, from entire car to front bumper). For me I would have to say that it's the back end of the Ford GT.

P.S. I hope this isnt a repost

car design has not been forgotten at all. more effort is being put into car design than ever before. what has changed is all the factors, mainly safety that the designers have to conform too....

I do believe there are way too many boring cars out there. Focus group designed boxes. There are a lot of great cars though that really provoke an emotive response.
Some of the cars that really get me - the DB9 - the front end is just beautiful. particularly the bonnet like Blip mentioned about the Vanquish
And again, the front end of the TVR Tuscan R... so curvaceous and inspires a real doubletake. So aggressive too

Any Alfa, 360CS, 575M, DB9, F430, Vanquish and many more that I can't remember right now.
So, as for now, I'm quite happy with what we've got.
What worries me is the new European front bumper regulation...

Personally i don't consider the Ford GT design to be modern, just basically the original designs put on the photocopier at 110% IMO

couldn't find a similar pic from the rear though
As for what i consider to be truly beautiful modern design, basically anything penned by Ian Callum, he who penned the overall shape of the DB9, my current favourite, though his new project for jaguar comes a close second IMO
I'll have one in the colour above please taken from Jeremy Clarkson Hot Metal

<===check my avatar i love that sleek little line that runs the rear wheel arches of the early Z cars. The sweep of the quarter panel fron the top of the side window back to the tail just looks sweet.

The entire E90 3 series.
Yes. I've said it. In 5 years, all of you will be on the E90 bandwagon. Believe it.

Thanks blip, I sometimes do poetry.
So, I think everyone can basically agree that the front end of the DB9 does it for most, I have to say that the rear 3/4 view is the best. Keep the replies coming. By the way A123; the rear end of the Ford GT is the most different external part from the original.
