this interview is like the first thing my mom told me about today when i got home. how tom was all like, "i know, i know what im talking about, ive studied it." cmon, tom, you arent a doctor, dude, you dont even have a college degree...in anything...let alone psychology. maybe ritalin would be a good idea for you?

Of course we all know the cure for everyhting is to join a cult :roll: I'd love to see the interview, really sounded like cruise was the one who was clueless. I hate things like this, its as bad as faith healers who claim to cure cancer and get people to stop conventional treatments, dangerous nutjobs :roll: Once again he proves what an arse he is. Probably i'll still watch war of the worlds though!

As I was watching it, I was picturing you losing it and lobbing a large potted fern at the telly all the while screaming obscenities - cause I know, if I had a potted fern, that's what I would have done..  
However - I will add, if anyone even mentions Ritalin and my child in the same sentence I will bury a hatchet in their face - so one the one hand I am with him on too many people/kids run for a medication to cure normal daily ills, I am also astonished that one of the biggest stars in the universe could have been so reckless with his comments on TV.

Well in reply to sm@ck, cult is usually used as a term to describe people who believe in something false....and as most people are still delusioned by the man in the sky (God)....
Tom Cruise is an idiot, because really what he's attacking here is ADHD as a diagnosis....and there is some proof that this is disease invented by american doctors to take the burden of parenting off parents :roll:
However, then generalizing to say that all psychiatry is false is stupid....psychiatry is always evolving, and still a relatively new field. Cruise should stick to smiling for the camera, because no one cares what he thinks about anything

Cruise is a complete moron. His acting is alot like John Travolta's. It's either hit or miss...usually miss. Apparently his thought proccess isn't muh better than his acting :roll:

HAHAHAH Maybe i could lob my laptop instead! but yeh you can't imagine how angry i would get seeing that. I remember a "watchdog" docu on faith healers etc, saying they could cure cancer, giving people such false hope is criminal in my eyes. The practices scientology advocate are similarly deplorable in my eyes.
Ok so yes i agree far to many kids are just perscribed drugs as a miracle cure, but to write off the entire profession of psychiatry is misguided IMO as you say its bloody irresponsible to imply that poeple should not seek conventional treatment and instead turn to some crackpot cult (waiting to get sued by them for expressing my opinion of them )

Simple reason as to why many kids are on ritaln is easy. Kids start doing bad in school, parents ask why, kid says i cant pay attention, parents take to doc, doc prescribes it. THe real problem is the kids are doing so bad is because they are bored as hell. The teachers barely know what they are teaching, and the kids can see that, so they just dick around. Hell i knew more about some of the crap they were teaching me in elementary school than my teachers.

Not to mention taht schools are over crowded, which means that most children arent getting the attention they need from their teachers.
Tom Cruise = a Dousche who should only act and leave public speaking to public speakers.
