Supposedly soon after the video hit the net apple came out with an extended warrantee option and a replacment battery.

Its debatable if this was something in the works prior to the webpage video or if it was something done because of the video.

Some of these companies never learn. Create a great product and screw the customer at the end.
Same goes to some the makers of Pocket PCs and palm pilots. Once the bat. is dead, you are expected to buy a new one...

That is a joke. What a nice thing for the service guy to say, you might as well just buy a new one. LOL

If it was not a rechargable unit then it would run of of juice at some point regardless if it was accidently left on or not I never owned one because I hate mac's with a passion so when they was mac only i had no interest. Then they was to expensive for my tastes.

I have heard simular things said by CS people who really didnt give a shit.

i'll admit, i do want one. my coworker let me use his for a bit, and it's sweet. if someone gave me one i'd definitely use it. $400 for the 20 gig is a lot to drop IMO. i wouldn't even get the $300 (10 gig) because it doesn't come with a lot of the accessories that i would end up buying for it anyway. i'm waiting to see what the budget ipods will have to offer.
