Default What would you say is the most Quirky car ever?

I mean quirky cars.

They don't necessarily mean ugly!

Wasn't there one version of the MR2 that had such messed up weight ratios and stuff that people kept wrapping them around trees? That seems like a hell of a quirk to me

I think the Porsche 911 (earlier models) was about as quirky as it gets. An air-cooled boxer engine, mounted behind the rear wheels? That's messed up. Sexy, but messed up.

The Saab Sonnet is a close second, because it's basically the reverse. A V4 engine (?!) mounted in front of the front wheels. And it's front-wheel drive. The weight balance must be ridiculous, with the engine right between the headlights. Probably understeers like a canoe full of nickels. I can't say for sure because I've never driven one, but with the way those crusty old POS'es are rotting like fruit, I probably never will.
