A kid told me today he had a WRX, a 2002 or something... not the STI one that could go 0-100 in 8 seconds or so. No NOS. Do you think this is true?

I just looked on car-stats.com and found that a Ferrari F50 does 0-100mph in 8.5 seconds.

the normal WRX can do 0-100KMh in around 6-6.5 secs.
its probably the stock n/a Impreza that does it in around 8 secs.

I guess that if you modified it "extensively" you could get it to do
that, but I'll only believe it if I see it with my own two eyes. I really
just think he's fibbing, unless he means 0-100 falling over a cliff.

That'd be one big-ass turbo. I think it's possible, but he'd either be running that engine totally ragged, or he's swapped entirely for a 2.5L and basically made the car into an STi.

Or he's a faker.

the stock USDM WRX dows 0-60mph in 5.4-5.7 seconds and 0-100mph in 16.5-17 seconds the USDM STI (note it have a completely different engine and more power than the GDB or JDM STI's) 0-60mph in 4.6-4.8 seconds and 0-100mph in 12.5 seconds.

However that being said with some huge serious mods WRX's can hit 0-100mph in 8 seconds
the worlds fastest wrx does the quarter mile in something like 9.5 seconds at 145mph

iv riden in one.... and they do not go 0 to 100mph in under 8 seconds.. they do 0-60 in like 5 or 6 seconds.. sure they are nice cars, great handling and a good bang for ur bucks but its not a ferrari.... it just isnt

i love the WRX, ive driven 3, like the looks of the newer one i drove, but felt moslty the same as the 2002 model. that being said
thats umpossible! unless he is filthy stinkin rich, and has nothing stock except the speedometer, and gas tank
