Veyron delayed...again
Veyron slower, and now later
On the heels of news that Bugatti plans to rein in the top speed of its 16.4 Veyron supercar to 218 mph (down from 252 mph) due to high-speed stability problems (AW, March 1), now comes word that we’ll have to wait even longer for the launch of the troubled two-seater. Originally planned for production in July 2003 and due to customers by this April, the 8.0-liter W16-powered car is now delayed for at least another 15 months before the first cars are in customer hands. Citing “demanding quality standards” imposed on the car by parent company Volkswagen, Bugatti officials confirmed at the Geneva motor show that the first example of the 987-hp car is not scheduled to roll from its assembly line in France until the second half of 2005.

Another 15 months of waiting. This is starting to be rather funny

Yes it is, how come they have so many trouble..., all they did is make it slower
and therefore less intresting, I don't even care about it, it has become so boring, after those 15 months, maybe slower and another 10 moths....BORING

Ah. I used to be in love with the Veyron. Now I'm tired of even hearing its name. It's a disgrace to fast cars.

They haven't made it slower yet, I think. it's just that they are having problems with stability at speeds close to 400km/h. I wonder why the Koenigsegg CCR hasn't got such problems...

Yep I also wonder how come the CCR doesn't have any problems, doesn't Buggati have more financial resources?

Maybe they found out it can't do 400km/h it can only do 40km/h and it got 101hp not 1001hp.. Being a smart ass.. ..

haaha
bugatti.. personally i think is a crappy and ugly car..
the only thing that is good about the car is the hp rating...
and is a really heavy car.... probably wont track that well
if they did their homework in the windtunnel, instead of rushing the design, maybe they will find more stabilty and not delaying

they just cant live up to their promises, i never really thought they would, but still im sad, cos id like to see it in some big supercar comparison(enzo, cgt, slr, zonda, ccr/cc8s, and veyron).
They got a big problem now: if they cancel the project, LOTS of money will be wasted, and Bugatti will never make another car(at least not as part of Volkswagen)
But, if they continue it and it doesnt live up to the promises, no1 will buy it cos its ugly and expensive and not faster than other supercars, so they'll go bankrupt and even more money will be wasted
The only option they really have is to delay it till its capable of what it promised, and i doubt they'll manage...
