Rupert Stadler, Audi’s CEO, is spilling the beans in Germany about Audi’s plans to begin revealing its ‘5′ breed starting 2008 with a A5 Convertible followed by the Audi S5 Convertible.
The Audi S5 Convertible will debut after the A5 convertible which is due out in November of 2008. The S5 Convertible should carry the same 4.2 liter V8 enigne that produces 354 horsepower. Although a 450 horsepower Audi RS5 Convertible is also expected in late 2009, to compete with the BMW M3 Convertible.
The Audi A5 Convertible will go head-to-head with the BMW 3-Series convertible. However unlike the hard-top 3-Series, both the A5 and S5 Convertible are expected to come in a soft-top.
