Default The first duel: BMW 335i vs CLK 350

A german carmag, Autozeitung tested BMW 335i against CLK 350
I dont have more details than these but I think its enough.

The CLK 350 was rated better in chapters auto body and driving comfort, but the 335i was very close.

The 335i was better in chapters engine/transmission and driving dynamics, Particulary engine and driving dynamics was a lot better in 335i than in CLK350.

Both cars were tested with Automatic gearbox. Following amazing times were meassured:

335i / CLK 350
0-100 km/h in 5,3 sec / 6.5 sec
0-160 km/h in 11,9 sec / 14.5 sec
0-200 km/h in 18,7 sec / 23.3 sec

Slalom: 64,5 km/h to 61,0 km/h.
Laptime around their track: 1:46,0 min to 1:50,4 min.

They also mentioned the 335i was faster than M3 E46 SMG around their track, tested in an earlier issue.

I'm looking forward for that M3 if the 335 can beat the old one, wow!

Rather have the 335 over the CLK...

I think it will be even more interesting for BMW tuners to get their hands on this engine as well as the new E92 chassis..

And yes, I would definitely pick the BMW over the Benz

That sounds pretty slow for the CLK... The weight is nearly the same as an SLK 350, yet the SLK 350 does 0-100 in 5.5 seconds, and the gearbox is the same.

*shrug*

However, doing better then an E46 SMG sounds incredible, makes it seem like whoever drove the E46 wasn't as good a drive as the person who drove the 335i (unless I'm missing out on something else over here?).

The performance of the 335i is getting very close to the one from the current M3, so i guess the next M3 is gonna be a very fast and powerful car
