Anyone remember JC´s head to head, Porsche Carrera vs a Yamaha R1. Offcourse the bike is faster on the straights but in the corners, its a totally different story!

Uhm - not up to 120 or so... - you have never come across a well riden modern 600...

Make no mistake, a car has more grip around the corners, but it is not as easy to beat a well riden bike at sub-120mph speed...

^^ having about 60,000 miles on sport bikes over the years I well versed in the straights vs turns issues.. I specifcally mentioned straights and freeways cause thats what you seemd to be commenting on..

And the number of cars that can chase down a 600cc below 120mph or so are few and far between.

I am also sure you have "chased" sport bikes through tight roads with your 4WD and maybe not perfect surfaces where the rider didn't feel falling down was worth the chase

While it may sound "easy" to chase down a well riden sport bike - dont kid yourself, while a car can be made to beat a bike - its not always that easy.

99% of the time on the street I would say one is beating the rider not the bike

That other 1% you better be prepared for a battle royale

Yeah - its easier to go 9/10 on the street in a car.. than it is on a bike.. as you get dead on the bike and walk away from the car

The whole issue of bikes vs. cars is kind of a moot point IMO. Sure its fun, but they are two totally different animals.

Ive raced quite a few in my Nova, only in a straight line and mostly from a stop to about 100mph or so. Ive beaten a few and have been beaten by a few. I remember racing one really fast bike, which beat me and after the race the rider said, "Im faster." My reply was, "yes, but I was drinking coffee and blasting the stereo during the race." Not to say I would have won if I hadnt, just commenting on the differences between the two vehicles.

I am always kind of nervous racing bikes though because I feel that if the rider crashed during the race, it is in someway my fault and I wouldnt like to see that go down due to a race I participated in.
