Default E36 320i vs. 01 Audi A3 1.8t

320i 150hp/190nm
A3 150hp/210nm

Ok so here's the deal, a couple of my friends with their cars are meeting soon and they want to see who is faster. I reckon the audi is due to the fact that it's a turbo hence more torque early down and it is lighter.

It think you agree with me till here.

Now the problelem is that as a BMW fan I have to stand on the bimmer's side. Would a chip (particularly this one http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl...-320i-24v.html) make the needed difference. I think it will be another story with the chip, what do you think??

Not much point in chipping a normally aspirated car.

I know that guys, I was asking theoreticaly.

And yes a chip on the 1.8t will bring some major power!

^ As I see this perspective from person other than me, I am now asking myself how could I ever second guess my beloved BMWs.

thanks for straighting my mind, if it happens that I do race them I'll let you know the outcome!

go bmw..... 0X

oops, one more thing. Ok I know there is (comparatively) not enought bang for the buck when it comes to chipping a N/A engine, but I can't help think that those 20 nm+ promised would make a difference. (and 15-18hp) What do you say?
